Charming house with a private pool, in the heart of a medieval village

This genuine 'Maison des Vendangeurs' (the Grape Pickers’ House) located at the rear of a quiet dead end street, will seduce you with a refined and warm decoration. Thank to its terrace, you will enjoy the sun of Southern France, and savour local wines with grilled meat, cooked on the barbecue and seasoned with local herbs. We offer you a bottle of wine for your arrival. For refreshing or simply relaxing, you will dive in the nice private pool (8 m x 4 m), secured and overlooked by neighbours. Sun tanning and ‘farniente’ are ensured. Letting your car parked in the enclosed courtyard, you can stroll in the old village, do your shopping (bakery, newsagent, tobacconist, grocery, butcher, caterer…) or sit in the shade outside the cafes and restaurants on the village's Promenade or place. Mountain bikes are available on request, if you want to discover the vineyards surrounding the village, the ‘Garrigue’ or admire the famous ‘Canal du Midi’.

Puisserguier is a medieval village, from the Romanesque times, with a castle built in the 11th and 12th centuries, in the middle of circular narrow streets (circulade). Walks in the vineyards are organized throughout the summer and there are excellent restaurants in the area. Open markets are held in the village or in the vicinity, where you can find our local products. The ‘Canal du Midi’, 4 km away, offers beautiful walks, cycling, or cruises leaving from the Colombiers harbour. St Chinian, 10km away, well known for its wines, Narbonne at 24 km, and Carcassonne, 88km, are worth a visit. As are Roquebrun, in the National Park of the upper Languedoc, the Abbey of Fontcaude, the ‘Oppidum’ at Enserune, and much more interesting touring places. The beach at Valras, 25 km away, offers nautical activities and a Casino. The golf courses of Beziers St Thomas, Cap d’Agde or Lamalou-les-Bains are beautiful and Spain is only 90min drive from the villa. Come and enjoy our 300 sunny days a year !

'La Maison des Vendangeurs' is available for a rent all year. The pool is useful generally from may to September and thank to its cover bubbles, the water temperature remains high, often in 1°C over the air temperature. For example, in 2007, we bathed in 28°C water on may 7th. Then the water temperature raised to 30 / 31°C till the end of September. People bathed the last week of September in a 25°C water.

  • WE OFFER A 15% DISCOUNT ON THE WEEKLY RATES FOR ADDITIONAL WEEKS.
  • The transfer bank or Paypal are accepted. All the expenses banking and exchange are chargeable to the tenant. Expect 3,4 to 3,9 % for Paypal commitee.
    A down payment of 30% of the rental rate is required upon booking, 50% must be paid 6 weeks before arrival, and the remaining balance is payable upon arrival.
    A security deposit of 500€ is required upon arrival and returned after satisfying inspection of the house.
  • If you do not wish to take care of the cleaning before your departure, a final cleaning is proposed for 50 euros supplementary.

A library with English and French books is available, as a free selection of DVD and videos VHS. We ask you please, not to smoke in the bedrooms. A final cleaning is available on request, for 50 €.

The airports at Carcassonne, Montpellier and Perpignan are about 90 km far from Puisserguier. The airport of Toulouse is at 185 km and Marseille at 229 km. The airport of Béziers Vias at 15 km have connections from Bristol for 10 euros (according to availability) by Ryanair. Car hire is available in every airport.
