Impressive 19C converted stone winery with pool nr sea and Montpellier
Le Chai is a delightful 19c converted stone winery set on the edge of the Chateau park which is now the local Marie. Our garden was once part of the vineyards and our house is the building where they used to store the large wine barrels. The vernacular architecture is spectacular and when you step through the front door you are overwhelmed by the beauty of the vast beams. You look over the garden to the cultivated field beyond. The fenced swimming pool adjoins the pool house and fully equipped summer kitchen, in an enclosed lawned garden, which offers privacy and tranquillity. Set in a quiet location on the edge of village with all amenities. Luxury privacy, spacious living room, large modern stone/wood/stainless steel kitchen, utility room, hallway. Master ensuite kingsize bedroom and sunken circular bath, double bedroom, twin bedroom, shower room with WC, separate WC, a large mezzanine bedroom and small mezzanine bedroom with stone spiral staircase. Outside shower room with WC.

Our village is one of many typical pretty Mediterranean villages in this area, the centre dating back to the medieval times. There are many markets for local produce, plants, flowers and flea markets. We also have many excellent local vineyards offering visits and wine-tasting. Our village produces its own wine and the famous sweet Muscat aperitif. Historic and cultural Montpellier lies 15kmW. Nimes 20km E dates back to the Roman times with its Amphitheatre, located on the Via Domitia and Pont du gard 20kmNE. The Camargue famous for its horses, flamingos and bird watching boasting the best in Europe, has wonderful unspoilt beaches stretching from Ste Marie de la Mer past Aigues Mortes to Grande Motte , Palavas and Grau du Roi, all on our doorstep. The property is ideally situated in the sunniest area in France, with more than 300 days of sunshine per year. May June and September are spectacular months with empty beaches and temperatures in the late 20's to 30’s, with clear blue skies.
