This recently fully renovated spacious 4 bedroom town house is one of the oldest in Marseillan and has its own private 30m2 roof terrace. Situated in the heart of this fashionable fishing town, all local amenities are within walking distance, including over 15 restaurants and the quaint fishing port and shops. One of the most renowned Mediterranean beaches is within a few minutes drive. Accommodation is excellent standard with all the luxuries you could need including sky digital TV. There are two large screen TVs, one in the main lounge and one in the master bedroom. On the top floor there is a Mezzanine leading to roof terrace and Summer kitchen – fridge, kettle, toaster, 2 ring electric hob, table top electric oven, portable CD player Roof Terrace - 4 sun loungers, table & 8 chairs, BBQ, shower, 2 large sun umbrellas. There is also free parking allocated outside.

Town House: This elegant 4 bedroom town house has its own private 30m2 roof terrace for sun worshippers and enjoys the best views over the fashionable fishing town of Marseillan. The house is one of the oldest in the town, while being close to the best Mediterranean beaches, you are also within walking distance of all the local amenities, including over 15 restaurants! The house has all the modern comforts and conveniences including sky digital, wireless broadband etc. There is also free parking allocated outside.

The Town: Marseillan, situated on the Etang du Thau (famous for its Mussels and Oysters), is where the Canal du Midi joins the Mediterranean. Its vibrant port area, with its stylish bars and restaurants is an excellent place to sit in the sunshine and watch the world go by.

The Beach: Marseillan beach is two and a half miles from Marseillan town, with a beach that stretches from Cap d'Adge in one direction to Sete in the other, a distance of some sixteen kilometres. This is a hazard free beach with fine golden sands, shallow warm waters where children can play and swim in complete safety. The beach is for sun lovers and those who enjoy the natural environment. It is reputed to be the cleanest French beach on the Mediterranean.

Great holiday in Marseillan

Had a wonderful time in Marseillan. The townhouse was fab, just as described, very clean and well equipped and everything worked! The roof terrace in particular was a real bonus. The layout is perfect for two couples or two families, with a double and twin bedroom plus a bathroom on each of the first and second floors. James was very helpful and prompt at responding to any queries. Angie, the local rep, was fantastic and even arranged for a car to take us to the station on our last day.

Marseillan is a lovely small town with everything you need within walking distance of the house. There are plenty of restaurants and food shops and a great little traiteur that produces excellent fresh dishes daily for you to eat at home. There are plenty of bars around the port area which are great for whiling away a few hours. Also in the port is the local wine co-operative. Take your own plastic bottles and fill up on the very drinkable local plonk for 1 euro a litre.

Although you don't need a car when staying in Marseillan, the public transport isn't great and you may want to consider hiring a car if you want to explore the area.

All in all a great holiday and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

Family break in Marseillan

We were a group of 5 adults and 1 child looking for some October sunshine. Weather was superb as was this accommodation. Very comfortable with all the equipment we needed.

Roof terrace was a godsend especially with the weather being so good - oldies went on the roof, while the youngies went to Marseillan-Plage for a day at the beach.

The stairs are typically French and do require some care when going up and down. Neighbours and townsfolk are very friendly - Marseillan is a lovely town with some excellent restaurants within a short walk (and not just in the port area!).

All the towns and villages around the Etang are lovely and cater for a variety of tastes. Agde and Marseillan-Plage are very commercial but do still provide a good day out.

Well what a residence! An absolutely fantastic place to base oneself in that area. The property wants for nothing, is well kitted out and the village is sensational with lots to see and do and many fine places to eat, at all budgets. Even eating in with food purchased locally with some great local wine was fun.

Don't park in the town square the night before market day. The stall holders just surround the car and it's impossible to shift until they go. This was also part of the adventure as the market was good to buy and browse in.

All in all a great residence in a lovely village with lots to see and do in the surrounding area and other towns.

Family Christmas holiday

A cosy house in the very centre of the town – it had all the comfort needed for at good family Christmas holiday. And the roof terrace is brilliant, we were enjoying our coffee up there on the 24th of December – it must be just perfect on a summer day.

Marseillan is a nice and friendly town, and we spoiled our self with oysters, Noilly Prat, and white wines from Madeleine St. Jean. Marseillan is well located for exploring Montpellier, Sete, Beziers and Agde.

We had 10 days in Marseillan, but could easily and spent another week there, there are just plenty of things to do and see – even during the winter season.

The only thing we missed was a French television Channel where we could have seen some French news and a French weather forecast.

Mobile connectivity is quite poor; except on the top floors – another good reason to spend as much time as possible on the Roof terrace during the summer, but a little cold on a rainy day in December.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt

Auch mit 5 Kindern und Baby hatten wir ausreichend Platz und die Dachterasse ist abends einfach wunderbar zum ausspannen.
Die Bäder sind sehr schön und alles war in wirklich ausreichender Menge vorhanden. Auch auf Annehmlichkeiten wie Spülmaschine und Waschmaschine musste wir nicht verzichten. Die Einrichtung ist sehr geschmackvoll und alle Zimmer sind liebevoll und nicht zu aufwändig dekoriert.

Am schönsten ist jedoch die Lage in Marseillan, ab von Bettenburgen a la Cap d´Agde mitten im "normalen" Leben - in der Nähe eines ausgezeichneten Gemüsehändlers und fußläufig zu allen Geschäften des täglichen Bedarfs, Bars Restaurants und den wöchentlichen Märkten.

Am Strand hatten wir noch jede Menge Platz und auch der Bouleplatz im Ort wurde ausgiebig genutzt.
Die Gegend hat einiges zu bieten - wir kommen gerne wieder.
