La Terrasse is a large and spacious renovated home, built in the centre of the old part of Olonzac, capital of the Minervois. The house is comfortably furnished with a large kitchen and breakfast room, a very large living/dining room with high ceilings and a view across to the Mairie. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed, and the other with twin beds. The tiled roof terrace is a wonderful feature of the house. With lighting for the evenings, it is 40 square metres in size, with table and chairs for six, two sun loungers and a barbecue. It is totally secluded and looks out over the rooftops of the town and across to the church. Olonzac is a small town; you can walk across it in just a few minutes. It has all the facilities you will need for a comfortable holiday, with several restaurants, cafes and bars, patisseries, boulangeries and a market every Tuesday morning where you can buy fresh, local produce. The Languedoc is a wonderful place to explore for its history, beauty and culture. UNESCO has declared the Cite de Carcassonne and the nearby Canal du Midi, World Heritage sites, but there is so much else to discover. To name but a few, the Cathar Châteaux of Peyrepertuse, Quéribus and Lastours, the abbeys of Lagrasse and Fontfroide, the Catedral de St Juste in Narbonne. The Montagne Noir with its forests and lakes just 45 minutes away, the mountains of the Pyrenees and skiing resorts just two hours drive. The Spanish border is close by with Barcelona just three hours away.

Notes: The kitchen is fully equipped. There is no conventional oven, but a combination microwave/oven is very effective. An archway leads to the the breakfast room with seating for four and plenty of storage along one wall. The living room is big with high ceilings and plenty of seating space. A long dining room table will seat eight comfortably. The roof terrace is very large, with an area of 40 square metres. It is fully tiled, with lighting for the evenings. Table and six chairs with umbrella and a barbecue. Access is from the top landing near the bedrooms. Though we welcome children, there are steep stairs and steps so it may not be suitable for very young children.
