Marseillan holiday apartment: Marseillan Ville

Enjoyed a lovely week at the apartment which was very clean and well maintained, pool was also very clean with a private area to sunbathe, well screened from the main house and in a beautiful garden. Approximately a 25 minute stroll from the apartment to the restaurants on the quayside - walk was very pleasant along the lagoon and reasonably well lit on the return journey. Would recommend the Brasserie de Soleil, food was excellent and judging by the numbers of other patrons is the most popular of those on offer. The Hotel Boulevard in the town is a good place for pre-dinner drinks and the food in the restaurant is good. Would recommend a visit to Pezanas, if you have any gifts to buy, this is the place. Would also recommend a visit to Noilly Prat in the town, Derek and Lisa were very hospitable hosts and kindly left a voucher for free entrance for two people. On Thursday evenings there is a small arts and crafts market in the main square of the town during months of July and August which could be combined with a meal at the Hotel Boulevard which is very close. Market in Marseillan is on Tuesday mornings. We visited Sete, but found it very packed and not really worth the effort, Pezanas was much nicer. To reduce cost of buying wine in restaurants, try the pichets - a litre of wine is approx 10 euros.
