Never a dull day in Marseillan :
Water sports - such as sailing and boating within minutes from the house .There are two sailing schools for all levels here , dinghy and catamaran hire at reasonable rates.
Swimming - There are miles of sandy beaches at Marseillan Plage , just 10 mins drive away (4 miles) or a 20 minute bike ride along the Etang de Thau (salt lake), a painless ride along scenic flatland with nesting flamingos and egrets.
River and Canal Cruises - the Canal due Midi starts here at the Etang, just a 5 minute walk from the gite along the lakeside, arrive at the famous school called Glenans and watch the canal boats as they motor past.
Children's Playground - within walking distance; Tennis Courts - bookable at the local town hall. Golfing - at St. Thomas and Cap d'Agde golf clubs, only 15 mins. drive , reasonable green fees at 185 Euros for 5 days. Brocante Fair (Antiques market) is set up every Sunday, about 10 mins by car. Nocturnal Amusement Parks - three in the area.
Food and Restaurants :
. At least 24 restaurants to try in Marseillan itself, and more than 300 restaurants around the Basin du thau, very fresh fish caught on the day, oysters and mussels are their speciality. Oysters are farmed right here in Marseillan , a short walk will bring you to producers where bags of oysters can be bought for small change.
Our local Champion supermarket sells good fresh fish, and meat.

An excellent base for exploring the hinterland with canoeing, walking, and discovering wine domains.
