We purchased our villa in the summer of 2006 and spent a year completely refurbishing the property sparing no expense. Completed in the summer of 2007 it now offers an exceptional standard of accommodation for 11 guests in 6 tastefully finished air conditioned bedrooms with great communal relaxation areas both inside and out. Upstairs there is a great open plan lounge/dining area and fully equipped kithcen opening onto a balcony from where you have amazing views out across the lake and the Med. Outside there is a shaded terrace with dining area right next to a stone built BBQ. Our pool has been custom built and offers both a main swimming pool about 2m deep and also a smaller toddlers pool which is just 0.5m deep so they can enjoy playing in complete safety. Our villa enjoys an unrivalled location close to the town centre, port and marina, all just 5 minutes walk away and there are 12km of beautiful sandy beached just a short 5 minutes drive away if you get bored of the swimming poo

Our villa offers a superb standard of accommodation having been completely refurbished with no expense spared. It is surrounded by landscaped gardens and we have installed a bespoke heated swimming pool complete with children's pool area. (Please note that the pool is unavailable Nov-March). Internally we have created 6 beautiful bedrooms all with individual character. The kitchen has been completely renewed with all appliances and there is a lounge area with flat screen TV, DVD, Satellite and Hi-Fi and a internal dining area which leads to a beautiful balcony with electric sun awning for dining outside that provides views over the Lac de Thau from Sete to the entrance of the Canal du Midi and the Med beyond. The villa enjoys a uniquely convenient location just 5 mins walk from the restaurants in the centre of the village and the old port and is situated on the road to the main beaches

The ancient fishing town of Sete is just 20km away and has excellent shopping, markets, restaurants and a traditional fish auction at the quayside at 5pm each evening. The medieval walled town of Carcassone is breathtaking and well worth a visit. A short drive inland takes you into scenery rich in vine groves and ancient villages and where landscapes give way to the mountainside. The passes are perfect for hiking and the hidden villages feature fantastic restaurants and architecture. Try a trip to Roquebrun where the village is built into the hillside and you can canoe down the river surrounded by wildlife and fantastic scenery. Alternatively you can always sun bathe nearby on 12km of beautiful sandy beaches while the more energetic members of your party do the hard work! Montpelier is only a short distance for big name shopping and sightseeing, It is also useful to remember that Barcelona is only a three hour drive south and can also be reached by train from Montpelier or Agde.

We have also installed a solar water heating system with a 500 litre storage facility which will ensure abundant and copious volumes of hot water for all guests. The system is efficient for about 90% of the year and during winter months will divert to electric heating automatically as required.

All bedrooms are have been tastefully redecorated in Provencal colours and are equipped with a highly sophisticated air conditioning (reversible heating) system with individual infrared controls in each room allowing occupants to select their desired temperature individually, which will ensure comfortable peaceful sleeping during the hot summer nights.

A great family holiday.

My husband and I have just spent a fantastic 2 week holiday at this villa. Accommodation is great; there are ample communal areas as well as space to have quiet time (often useful when travelling with lots of people!). Everything was clean and all the appliances were well maintained and furnishings were comfortable. We had 2 young children with us who thoroughly enjoyed the swimming pool, which we used at least twice each day.
In general, Marseillan is a great place to spend a holiday and has opportunities to suit all tastes, such as canoeing, sightseeing or sunbathing at the beach. The port area of the town is picturesque with lots of great restaurants, which are all within easy walking distance of the villa. It's proximity to the A9 means that you have easy access both to airports and sights of interest such as Pont du Gard or Carcassone.
Paul was unfailingly helpful and efficient in his dealings with us. All in all, I would highly recommend a visit to this villa. We can't wait to go back!!

Last Years Hols at Villa Vol au Vent

I was lucky enough to be part of a family group that booked this villa for two weeks last summer. It was exactly as illustrated really good quality fittings and furniture every thing was nearly new and what was best about this property was the location it was just a short walk away from the shops and restaurants in town which meant that we could always stroll down to the port to eat out on an evening. The pool was exceptional and as we had a couple of toddlers the small toddlers pool was fantastic and meant the we could relax knowing that the kids were enjoying the safety of this great facility. I've already booked again for next year!
