Domaine St Ferreol offers luxurious holiday accommodation for rental for couples, families, or groups of friends and is also an ideal setting for celebrating your special occasion. Located in the heart of the Herault Valley in Languedoc, close to Pezenas (6km) and sunny Mediterranean beaches (25km) there are a wealth of cultural & sporting activities to keep you busy all year round. Dating back to 822 the ancient Domaine lies in a peaceful 35 acre estate, surrounded by vineyards with 2 acres of wooded parkland, 1 km of riverbank, a bamboo park & natural water gardens and ponds. The extensive grounds include a large secluded pool (12x6M) Set in its own landscaped garden, an enclosed children's play area with swings, slide, sandpit, table tennis and 14ft trampoline & a large park with plenty of nooks and crannies. The 4 villas have been lovingly restored, retaining many original features & offer a unique blend of traditional Languedoc character with all the luxurious comforts of home.

3 bedrooms (1 double, 2 twin bedded), 2 bathrooms. Named after the ancient and huge Bougainvillaea that climbs up the front of the villa and provides a stunning floral display. The interior is very bright and spacious (26x15ft) with 2 large French doors at either end. Exposed beams and stone walls bring out the property's ancient character. Decorated in traditional blue and yellow Provencal style, with colourful paintings and country furnishings, the lounge offers a peaceful and relaxing seating area, with large sofa bed, comfortable armchairs and a dining area seating up to 8 people. French doors lead out onto a private enclosed garden with table, chairs, parasol and BBQ. This in turn looks out onto the estates beautifully lawned garden with mature trees and lily pond. The kitchen is separate and adjacent to the lounge with all mod cons. Upstairs are 3 spacious bedrooms, also with exposed beams and antique wardrobes, offering plenty of storage space. TV, CD music centre, DVD player.

Pezenas our nearest historic town offers a wealth of colourful bars, cafes and restaurants and with so many local arts & crafts artisans making jewellery, blowing glass, sculpting and painting it is a great place to be inspired ! Enjoy excellent local wines and delicious regional dishes in some of the region's most exotic settings either on the seafront or hidden away in picturesque villages. With both the Med and Lake Salagou in close proximity there is plenty to do for lovers of all water sports and golfers will find their own paradise among the 6 regional golf courses.

This was our third visit to St Ferreol, so I guess that speaks for itself. It's one of those places that, once discovered, many families seem to come back to. The owners, Jorje and Ania are really welcoming and helpful.

The Bougainvillaea is one of a group of six gites in a lovely old wine domain that the current owners have brought back into wine production.

We went with our 12-year-old son and my parents and we all loved it. All the gites are clean, spacious and comfortable and well equipped, including wi-fi access and Sky TV. They are also nicely decorated with lots of attention to detail which you often don't get in these sorts of places.

St Ferreol is about half an hour's drive from some nice beaches and just a few kilometres from the lovely town of Pezenas which is a big tourist attraction but in a nice, arty, charming sort of way - think little courtyard restaurants, galleries and antique shops.

Because St Ferreol is such a nice place to relax in and there is a lot for children to do on site (swimming pool, table tennis, trampoline and spacious gardens) you really don't need much more but there are a lot of things to do locally and some good restaurants which Jorje and Ania can tell you about.

Would definitely recommend the beautiful and peaceful place and definitely want to go back.
