This modern, well-equipped villa is situated at the end of a long, private drive, within its own grounds. The property boasts a large open-plan lounge-diner, with high-beamed ceiling and wood-burning stove. It has comfortable seating (including double sofa-bed), Dining table / chairs for 8, TV with UK satellite, DVD/VCR, stereo system, air-con. French doors open out onto the south-facing terrace which overlooks the 10 x 5 metre pool with all-weather Abri cover and garden, plus views over the vineyards. The large, extremely well-equipped kitchen has cooker; fridge-freezer, microwave, wine cooler and 2 dishwashers. The four bedrooms (2 doubles, 1 single and 1 3-bed room) are all tastefully furnished with plenty of wardrobe / storage space. . All have a range of entertainment equipment. The main bathroom has bath with shower facility, WC, wash basin and bidet. The shower room includes WC and wash basin. There is a third WC with wash basin. The new Utility room has washing machine

The villa is situated on the edge of the beautiful, traditional, wine producing village of Autignac, one of the seven villages renowned for the Faugeres wine. The village itself has a boulongerie, bar, tabac, with the nearby village of Magalas hosting a supermarket plus other small shops, cash-point, cafes/bars/restaurants. The surrounding area is covered with vineyards, with plenty of opportunities for wine-tasting, and the purchase of local wines at reasonable prices. The village sits in the foothills of the Cevennes - an ideal place for cycling, walking and sight-seeing with beautiful views over outstanding countryside. The beaches of the Mediterranean are only a 30 minute drive, with a large water-park at Cap D'Agde. Canoeing and kayaking can be found on the rivers of the Orb, Herault and Tarn, with a range of watersports / activities at Lac Salagou. The cities of Beziers, Narbonne, Montpellier, Carcassonne, and places further afield are all steeped in catalan history

  • All prices include electricity, water, linen and towels plus cleaning and laundry following departure.
    Discounts up to 10% may be negotiated for bookings in high season depending on date and level of enquiries
    Discounts from 10% of the published price may be available for bookings out of high season.
  • A deposit of 25% is required on booking with the balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to departure. Provisional bookings can only be held for 7 days. A refundable security deposit of £200 is required with the final balance. This will be used to cover any damage / breakages, extra cleaning beyond standard requirements or un-necessary call-outs by pool maintenance personnel or property manager.

Notes: The lounge / diner / kitchen area has air-conditioning. The bedrooms have mobile coolimg units / fans. There are electric wall heaters in every room, with a free-standing wood burning stove in the lounge-diner. There is a large selection of DVDs, Videos and CDs. There are also books, local tourist information and games. The utility room houses the washing machine, iron and cleaning equipment. There are french doors also from the dining area onto the rear garden, and a door from the utility room to the rear garden The pool has been completely upgraded 2009, and is now fully tiled. There is a pool terrace with 8 sun loungers/garden chairs. There is a large garden area to the rear and side of the villa, with barbecue, tables/chairs and bench seats. There is also a garden hammock. The garage is utilised for the storage of the barbecue and sun loungers, when not in use, and lifting equipment for the Abri panels. There is ample parking for at least 4 vehicles

Activities i.e. golf, canoeing etc.: The local Tourist Information office, at Magalas, will be able to provide details of various activities within the area. There are also a variety of leaflets, maps and guide books in the villa There are 2 golf courses within 20 miles of the villa: Saint Thomas, at Beziers, and Lamalou-les-Bains Canoeing, kayaking etcis available on the nearby River Orb. There are also a variety of watersports available at Lac Salagou

The village of Autignac is situated close to the Parc Natural du Haut-Languedoc.It is an ideal area for cycling, walking and sight-seeing with beautiful views over outstanding countryside. This area has inspired many artists with the colours of its beautiful scenery and featured in an article in France magazine (September 2007 issue) While away hours visiting nearby villages such as Orlarques and Roquebrun (dubbed 'Nice of the Languedoc')

This is an ideal place to rest and relax, especially in a family environment. The villa exceeded all expectation and was so good that we are returning next year for 2 weeks in order to do justice to the facilities and the surrounding area. We had brought some extra items that we thought might be useful for the stay, however, everything you could possibly need is provided. The villa itself, despite being on the outskirts of Autignac village, provides a sense of isolation and tranquility due to its setting - surrounded by trees and hedges and with a quite lovely garden.
We spent a large amount of time in, and around, the pool which was particularly popular with the children as it was always warm due to the cover. This not only provided a heat source for the pool but was also a very useful safety measure and did not take too long to do each day.
The local area is very picturesque and there is plenty to see and do - we didn't actually have enough time to see everything we wanted to (part of the reason for the return visit next year) - and the owners provide a number of leaflets detailing areas to visit (Le Petit Nice in Roquebrun just one example of fantastic food and Carcassonne chateau definitely worth a visit). The village of Autignac itself has a cafe that does an excellent value for money lunch - 10 euros a head for whatever is being cooked that day with as much wine as you want thrown in; there are also a couple of really nice places in nearby Magalas.
For those wanting to there is also a lovely Meditteranean beach within driving distance and a number of chateaus that provide very cheap excellent wine.
This was a fantastic place to stay and we have recommended it to a number of people.
Owner's Response: Autignac is a lovely peaceful village surrounded by beautiful countryside. There is lots to do from walking; cayaking down nearby rivers; visiting historic sites in the Languedoc region; wine tasting; swimming in the Med, and most importantly, relaxing.
The villa is kitted out to a high standard to meet our needs in every way. Therefore, we hope it also meets the needs of our renters. The pool will be further upgraded this winter, and, for next season, will be completely tiled
We are certain that our villa offers the opportunity for an enjoyable holiday
