The residence, with its swimming pool and spa centre, nestles in the foothills of the Pyrenees, 4km from Argeles village and the beach. Set amidst a green oasis of mature trees and shrubs, the residence of 31 single storey, terraced villas and 161 low-rise apartments reflects the local Catalan style with enclaves of ochre and pink washed façades and tiled roofs. There is a large swimming pool and paddling pool. Also there are 7 tennis courts nearby(free of charge), mini-golf, table tennis, a football pitch, a multi-sports area, children’s play area and a boulodrome. The restaurant and bar are open for lunch and in the evenings and in July and August offer a twice weekly buffet evening. The delightful outdoor terrace makes the perfect place to dine al fresco. The spa centre provides a passport to fitness and well-being, with an extensive range of treatments. In July and August there is a children's club (ages 4-11) and a teen club (ages 12-15) with 'animators' speaking some English.

The small one bedroom apartment is for 4 people, measures approximately 30m² and has traditional french tiling and lino floors throughout. The small living area has a divan sofa bed for 2 people and a dining table with chairs. The kitchenette is equipped with 2 electric rings, a fridge and a microwave oven. There is one bedroom with either a double bed or twin beds. There is limited cupboard and hanging space for clothing in all apartments. There is a shower with WC and either tiled or lino floor. All apartments have either a terrace or a balcony which is equipped with garden furniture. We have a choice of 3 sizes of villas and apartments at Les Alberes accommodating from 4- 8 people.

The residence is just 4km from Argeles and the Mediterranean beaches. The lovely picturesque port of Collioure is 10 km away and the colourful Catalan city of Perpignan just 25km away. Spain 30km. Argeles, has 7 km of sandy beach and 2 km of rocky coastline, with the entire resort and its little port classed as a blue flag area with clean bathing, and a beach which is cleaned daily. Argeles is officially recognised in France as a great resort for children with a vast range of activities and attractions. Adults too are well catered for with boat trips, scuba diving, sailing, kayaking, swimming pool, tennis, horse riding, archery, cycling and mountain biking, go-carting, walking, mini-golf, micro-lite flights, canyoning in the mountains and paragliding. During July and August, when the resort is at its busiest, a little tourist train provides a regular service (every 20 minutes) from the residence to the centre of Argeles & the beach & takes away the strain of driving & parking.

  • There is a non refundable booking fee of 25 euros.
    Bed linen is provided but please note that beds are not made up prior to your arrival. The following may be hired from reception: T.V. for 30-50 Euros per week, towels for 8 euros per week, baby kit for 25 Euros. (This includes high chair, cot and bath.)
    An end of stay clean can be arranged and costs from 52 Euros.
    There is a free children's club from 03/07 to 28/08/10 for children aged 4-11 and teenage club for children aged 12-15.
  • The local tourist tax of approximately 0.96 euros per person (aged 13 and over)is payable in resort from April -September.

    A security deposit of 300 euros is payable upon arrival by cash, cheque or credit card. This will be refunded after an inventory and cleaning check on the day of departure.

Other activities at the Residence: Aquagym and step aerobics are offered in July and August (supplement payable). The price of aqua-gym is about 13 euros for 30 mins, whilst aerobics is about 10 euros per session. A range of Spa treatments offer the perfect opportunity for pampering and relaxation. In the spa, is an indoor pool heated to 32oC, a fitness room, hydro massage pool, jacuzzi baths, toning jet showers, seaweed baths and sauna. Les Alberes residents are eligible for special reduced rates (must be requested when booking). We recommend booking in advance as the facility is very popular and can get booked up. Please note: children are not permitted in the spa. Spa open Mon-Sat, closes 12.30pm-3pm. In July and August there is a children's club (ages 4 - 11) and a teen club (ages 12 -15) and a whole range of daytime and evening entertainment are organised for all ages by French and English speaking 'animators'. The venue for animation is a small piazza with tiered seating with a snack bar conveniently on hand.

Shuttle service to Argeles town and beach: During July and August, when the resort is at its busiest, a little tourist train provides a regular service (every 20 minutes) from the residence to the centre of Argeles and the beach and takes away all the strain of driving and parking. The price is 2 euros single and 4 euros return (children under 4 go free) or a weekly pass can be purchased for 15 euros.

Arrival details, deposits, local taxes: Arrivals on normally on Saturday between 17h and 20h. In case of late arrivals, it is essential to inform the residence in advance. Departures are on Saturday by 10h. PLEASE NOTE: During July and August, to enter the complex, a photo id card will be required. This will be issued to all party members upon arrival. PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING PHOTOS WITH YOU. The local tourist tax of approximately 0.96 euros per person (aged 13 and over)is payable in resort from April-September. A security deposit of 300 euros is payable upon arrival by cash, cheque or credit card. This will be refunded after an inventory check on the day of departure. You are politely reminded to leave the house in a clean condition. It will be checked on your departure and your deposit will be refunded minus any breakages. You may well want to take advantage of the final cleaning service which is payable as an extra : from 52 euros depending size of accommodation.

First off we were not in a villa it was an apartment. I ordered a baby package and had to collect it from reception myself it was not there for on arrival. Bed linen was not provided as advertised we had to buy our own. The restaurant on site was open a meagre one and half hours a night closing at 9pm great.
I had to do an inventry of the kitchen stuff provided and return it to reception. I spent an hour cleaning the apartment before we left and then when I handed the key in I was advised I would have to wait another 45 for the cleaning crew to check the apartment.
This was not a holiday is was a camp!!
Would never stay here again and we quite happily tell all my friends to stay clear.
Owner's Response: We were disappointed that this client was not happy with their accommodation however we would like to make the following response. We have both villas and apartments at Resience les Alberes and this client booked, paid for and stayed in an apartment and not a villa.
It is not unusual, at a French residence such as Les Alberes, for items such as bed linen, towels, baby packs etc to be collected from reception. According to reception, bed linen was made available for the client. We are sorry if it was not sufficiently clear that items had to be collected and following this review have updated our notes on the advert so that there can be no doubt in this matter. Similarly, it is quite normal either in an individual property or in accommodation within a residence for an inventory to be required and for the property to be cleaned and checked prior to departure. If the customer does not wish to clean the accommodation at the end of their stay, cleaning can be arranged upon payment of a fee.
As regards the restaurant opening hours, these are very much dictated by demand during months outside the peak season and can be shorter than they are in July and August.
