Self-catering, holiday rental, Canet Plage, near Perpignan. This fourth floor (top) 2 bedroom apartment is spacious and completely refurbished with modern kitchen, bathroom and cloakroom.Lounge and dining room. Panoramic double glazed windows throughout and remote controlled electric shutters. Both bedrooms and dining room open on to the large south-facing terrace equipped with table and chairs and sun loungers from where you overlook the swimming pool, the Mediterranean or magnificent Mount Canigou. A second small balcony at the back facing Canigou if the sun gets too much for you on the main terrace. Lift, Private secure designated parking space. Large swimming pool set in gardens for exclusive use of residents (1st June - 30th September).

Canet, Perpignan area, is in the sunniest region of France with an average of 320 days sun per year. The Roussillon plain stretching from Perpignan to the Pyrenees is a major wine, fruit and vegetable producing region which adds greatly to local cuisine. There are direct flights from UK and Ireland to Perpignan airport, (15min from apartment). The apartment is ideally located for walking 50 metres to the Blue Flag beach, exploring the local markets and shops, cycling round local vineyards, or going by the very efficient local bus to explore the lovely old town of Perpignan. High season there are beach clubs for children in Canet. The nearby lagoon is a naturist delight with bird hide and an invigorating fitness circuit. For those with a car the ancient city of Carcassone, one hour away, is a must and Barcelona is only an hour and a half away by good auto route. Twenty minutes away is the beautiful artists’ enclave of Coulliore nestling between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Rates include electricity and water charges in the months of June, July, August and September. Between the 1st March 2010 and May 31st 2010 and 2nd October 2010 and 31st October 2010 - there will be an additional £30 per week for electricity and water.
    Non - refundable deposit of 25% on booking.
    Balance payable 8 weeks before start date of holiday. A security deposit of £100 (OR 150 Euros if paying in euros) is payable at the same time as the final payment cheque. The deposit be returned in full within three weeks of the end of the holiday unless any deductions for breakages, damage or losses are necessary.

Great Holiday

We visted Canet in June, was brill holiday - everything ran like clockwork and directions and info Kathleen left was first class. We found the area not that dear. We cooked alot and ate out and groceries were cheaper than we thought and wine also - very reasonable!

Would defo come back.

Great apartment

Everything about this apartment lived up to our expectations. The terrace was just fabulous! The apartment is very spacious and well maintained. We really enjoyed our stay and the location was perfect for us - just a short walk to the promenade and beach. Kathy was extremely efficient and helpful and we hope to return in the near future.

the appartment has a fantastic terrace , that seems to get the sun all day and evening. Good location, spacious , and we all enjoyed our stay. The pool is also really good to have , as you do get a bit wind swept on the beach.

Lovely large apartment

Our second year in this great apartment in a beautiful part of France.
The weather was fantastic and the location to all amenities in the resort could not be better.
The apartment was clean and well maintained and the resort lively in the middle of August making it ideal for our young family.

Peace and quiet

Apartment is very well equipped - contains everything you could want. Terrace is wonderful, once you get used to visits from Sidney Seagull (or is it Sally?). It was amusing to watch the seagull chips on neighbouring rooftops.
Beach is huge, clean but a bit windy on occasions. NB it seems that you cannot hire beds/sun shades separately from joining one of the "beach clubs" which are pretty expensive (10 Euros per person per day) and in any event were not open in May).
End May/start June is pretty quiet in this part of thr world, but that suited us. Public transport is fine - all bus fares 1 Euro (or 7.50 Euro for ten trips). Took train trips to Collioure and Villefranche where the brave can get the little yelow train further up into the mountains, but this only runs at weekends until the middle of June
