Mas Pallares is an old stone (15C) farmhouse tucked into the hillside near a small stream in the Reynes valley – an idyllic, sheltered location just 5mins from the arty market town of Ceret & the spa town of Amelie. SELF-CATERING apartments and BED & BREAKFAST with private terraces. The Med & Spain within 30mins. It is an ideal location for those seeking THE CURE at Amelie which is close by. A short stroll from the farmhouse gives access to vines, cherries orchards & splendid views of Mt Canigou and the sea. This old farmhouse oozes character with its many huge beams and heavy wooden doors & terraces. In the pretty mature garden is a large secure pool, garden furniture, BBQs & table tennis. Washing machine in summer kitchen. Well equipped with terraces. Suitable for families of 2 - 6 or for larger groups of up to 30. Ideal for walkers or lovers of nature. (GR10 nearby). Living room is comfortably furnished with seating for up to 6. It incorporates well-equipped kitchen with cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker etc. & dining area. Le Grenier has private terraced area on the romantic Grande Terrasse. Table & chairs for 6. .Acess to garden and pool via Salon & La Grande Terrasse. Ironing facilities. Washing machine is shared and is in the summer kitchen. Table tennis. This apartment is ideal for families as it is very spacious. English Satellite TV/DVD. Wifi access. This general area offers a wide diversity of attractions. It is at the gateway to the Vallespir - a region of outstanding natural beauty in the Pyrenees-Orientales, and the most southerly valley in France. It is a region of great beauty with tree-clad mountains, rivers, gorges, abundant wildlife, good wines and the earliest cherries in France. As well as being less than half an hour from the Mediterranean - with its miles of golden beaches - and the Spanish Costa Brava, the old market town of Ceret with its medieval arches and sleepy squares is fast becoming an important cultural centre in the region, having once been home to Picasso, Soutaine & Dali, amongst others. The Languedoc has much to offer historically, too, perhaps most noteworthy being its Templar & Cathar heritage, with many castles and Rennes Le Chateau (featured in the Da Vinci Code) within 1 & half hrs drive away. There is also a wealth of ancient abbeys and Romanesque architecture close at hand

  • A security deposit of 25% of the total cost will be payable at the same time as the final balance. This should be a separate sterling cheque made payable to Elizabeth Price. This cheque will be returned intact within one week of departure following the end of the holiday, and provided there is no cause for deductions.

    Rates may vary for the Easter, Whitesun and Christmas/ New Year breaks.
  • B&B is offered in selected apartments. Breakfast is served in the main salon of the house. Please request our 2009 B&B tariff.
  • During off peak periods it is possible to vary the day of arrival to coincide with low cost mid week flights!!

We are looking forward this year (2008) to our fourth holiday at Mas Pallares, where we know we will receive a warm welcome from the charming and helpful owner.

Mas Pallares, a 500 year old farmhouse is an ideal location for couples or families who appreciate an idyllic, peaceful setting with a pool.

From the garden, you can walk, via a small trout river, through vineyards and cherry orchards to where you can see Mount Canigou, Spain, and the Mediterranean Sea.(about 45 mins drive away)

Several restaurants and a boulangerie are within walking distance of the farmhouse and Ceret is a 10 min drive away, where you can enjoy the Sat. market and numerous shops and restaurants.

We would certainly recommend this property and can't wait to return!

I stayed here a couple years ago and I loved it. Beautiful setting, gorgeous pool, really nice owner, very clean and well kept. There's plenty to do in the area. Ceret is gorgeous, plus there's plenty to visit and it's just lovely to tool around the area with a car.....I highly recommend it. I've rented many apartments in France and this is one of the best.
