The apartment is in a farmhouse located near to rocky coves with quiet beaches at a point where the Pyrenees reach the sea. This farmhouse is recently renovated and the ground floor apartment within it is completely private. The apartment has its own south facing sun terrace and barbecue with un-interrupted views up the terraced vineyards to Fort St Elme. A walk from the farm into the vineyards will give you stunning views of Collioure, the coast and Pyrenees. The nearest beach is 100m and is in a rocky cove with excellent swimming, snorkelling, diving or just relax and enjoy the views. The walk to the second beach which faces Collioure across the bay is 200m. Take your choice. The walk into Collioure takes 15 mins. along the coastal path and has lovely views across the ancient harbour. In Collioure you will be spoilt for choice with the range of restaurants, cafes, bars and art galleries. A 10 min walk will take you into Port Vendres with its famous fish market and commercial port.

Collioure is known as the' jewel of the cote vermeille'. It is a beautiful, ancient and atmospheric town built around the medieval castle and port. The castle was the formar residence of the King of Majorca when this area was part of Aragon. It was also important to the Knights Templars who used it as as a port for exporting wine to finance the crusades. Picasso, Derain and Matisse lived and painted here. When you have experienced the quailty of the light you will understand why. A walk through the narrow, ancient streets of fisherman's houses is a delight. Many now house modern day artists studios.Sit on the harbour front or the beach and just watch the world go by and admire the sheer beauty of the place. Try a trip on the sailing schooner Treguern and see this lovely coast from the sea. Outside of Collioure try visits to local vineyards; Port Lligat near Cadaques where Dali lived; Figueres home of the Dali museum; Cathar castles; great walking on coastal paths and the Pyrenees.

Notes: Outside: the terrace is large and private with sun loungers, a barbecue and dining furniture. It faces south and has the sun from morning to evening. The view is a vine covered hillside leading to the Napoleonic Fort St Elme. There are good walks along the paths leading from the terrace up and along the hillside. Inside: the apartment is well fitted out using Provencale colours. The twin bedroom is equipped with 2 bunk beds. Bed linen and towels can be provided at a cost of Euros 20 per person per week.
