Collioure, the treasure of the ‘Cote Vermeille’, is located at the Mediterranean seaside. The apartment is sunny, entirely new and situated in a peaceful area, at only 650 feet away from the beach and several shops. It is located at the bottom of the Fort St. Elme and its old windmill, in the middle of vineyards (AOC Collioure and Banyuls wines). The apartment has a large west-facing terrace with a magnificent view. In front of the house, the St Elme path leads to numerous footpaths through the ‘massif des Albères’. There is a private car park. On the inside, large picture windows, overlooking the private terrace, offer a view onto the vineyards and the village. The apartment is entirely equipped with air-conditioning and is composed by 2 bedrooms (one with a 55 inches bed and another with two 35 inches beds).

To following is to be visited in the surroundings: Perpignan (17 miles), the Palace of the Kings of Majorca’, the Castillet, the Loge de Mer, the Saint Jean Cathedral, the Campo Santo, the Caves of Banyuls, Thuir (Byrrh), the Salses Castle, the African reserve of Sigean, Elne, Castelnou, the Costa Brava (Cadaques and Rosas). Sports and leisure: Golf at Saint Cypries (10 miles), Horse-riding (4.5 miles), thalassatherapy at Banyuls (6 miles). There is a tennis court nearby.

Lovely location, poor accomodation

The apartment on the photographs is NOT the one that we stayed in. Our apartment was not as well decorated as the one in the pictures. The kitchen was poorly equipped, one butter knife, 2 small kitchen knives, four mismatched glasses and mugs etc. You would struggle to manage if four people stayed here. The furniture, linen and towels were on the whole a little shabby.

The apartment on the whole had a slightly unfinished feel.

It was however spotlessly clean.

Overall I would say that this apartment represents poor value for money.

Nicely situated but leave a lot to be desired

The property is close to the town up a very steep road so not suitable for everyone. My gripe is that the apartment did not live up to expectations, part of the cooker did not work and fused the electricity supply when I mistakenly tried it - this meant no hot water for 24 hours... The kitchen is equipped very basically. The second bedroom is clearly meant for children, not really suitable for adults. It appears that the fabric of the building was never quite finished, a pile of rubble by the entrance, the terrace unfinished... certainly there are views and Collioure is great but this apartment was a disappointment.
