Attractive well-furnished apartment in a small quiet residence about 10 minutes walk from the beaches and centre of Collioure, with vineyards and hills behind and sea views in front. Collioure is a delightful fishing village on the Mediterranean coast, close to the Spanish border where the Pyrenees meet the sea. It has three beaches and a maze of narrow streets with artists' studios, shops, bars and plenty of restaurants.

Collioure is an old fishing port on the French Mediterranean coast about half an hour from the Spanish border. It was made famous by painters such as Matisse and Derain who came here in the early years of the 20th century. They worked here for several years founding the movement that became known as Fauvism. Behind the apartment, you can walk up through the vineyards. In the autumn you can see the grapes being picked for the local co-operative. A couple of hours walking takes you into the foothills of the Pyrenees.

A great place to stay

We found this spacious apartment to be a fine base for our trip to Collioure. It was very well maintained, clean and fully equipped with all we needed (useful when travelling with a baby). The owner was very pleasant and helpful and provided excellent local information. Collioure itself is a charming place with much to offer and we look forward to going back.
