The apartment is 4 years old and has been purpose designed and equipped for holiday letting. The standard of comfort, equipment and privacy is also suitable for long stays and available all year round. The apartment is in the form of an annex to the owner’s home and is located in a quiet residential area in the heart of the Alberes. The accommodation 47 square metres, comprises two double bed rooms, a shower room with WC & WHB. A Lounge with seating for 4 persons, dining table & chairs seating 4 persons, TV / Satellite (Freeview) DVD and a fully fitted kitchen corner with fridge / freezer, washing machine, built in cooker and hob plus a microwave oven. A covered terrace 14 square meters with mountain views, table & chairs for 4, barbecue, and access to a pool shared with the owner. Wi-Fi Broad Band Internet access available upon request.

  • Rental payment accepted in Pounds Sterling or Euros. Rentals paid for in Euro Cheques issued from a bank outside France are subject to a 15 Euro surcharge.
    Longer rentals at negotiable rates, no fixed changeover day.
    A deposit of 25% is required to confirm a booking the balance being required 4 weeks before the the booking start date. Should the booking be confirmed at short notice, ie within 4 weeks of the booking start date the full amount will be required when booking. A refundable security deposit in the form of a separate cheque for £100-00 or €150-0 will be required with the final payment. Beach towels can be provided as an extra at a charge of £t.b.a per week see terms and conditions at the time of reservation.

Village in the Albères Massif: The apartment is a ground floor annex to a detached villa located in the centre of the picturesque Catalan village of Villelongue Dels Monts, which nestles in the foothills of the Massif des Albères, the easternmost section of the Pyrenees. The apartment has a sunny secluded garden with shared use of the pool. The locality has a good variety of shops and restaurants, and a weekly market, all within 5-10 mins drive. The Mediterranean coast (Argelès-sur-Mer, St Cyprien, Collioure, the Cote Vermeille) is 15 mins away. Walking opportunities range from gentle strolls around Villelongue, to rewarding and demanding rambles in the Albères Massif. Nearby, fascinating old towns and villages (Céret, Prades, Elne) have historic centres with ancient monuments, narrow streets and quiet squares, local shops and weekly markets, restaurants and art galleries. Villelongue Dels Monts is an ideal centre for a holiday, being close to the sea and the mountains. Winter Skiing is also an attractive choice.

La Côte Radieuse & Arrière Pays: The resorts of Canet-Plage, St Cyprien and Argelès-sur-Mer Cote provide attractions for all tastes and benefit from spacious wide sandy beach locations along the stretch of coast called La Côte Radieuse, the southern extremity of which terminates at an intimate little beach called Le Racou tucked between Port Argelès an the eastern extremity of the Alberès Massif. The rocky coast known as La Cöte Vermeille continues to the Spanish frontier and beyond. Here are to be found the ports of Collioure, Port vendres, Banuls Sur Mer and Cerbère. Inland there are many large lakes or Plans D'eau which offer fresh water beaches and water sports particularly at Villeneuve de la Raho. In season there is a variety of Fly and coarse fishing in spectacular scenic locations with the prospect of the big Trout or Carpe amongst many other species. For the lover of ancient history ther are many splendid sites to visit such as Serrabonne, St Martin de Canigou and the Cathar Chateau de Queribus.

La Côte Vermeille: Collioure is internationally famous for its picturesque scenes beloved by generations of artists, its narrow shady streets in the old town crammed with fascinating shops and galleries. The town is dominated by the Chateau Royal, a former royal residence for the kings of Majorca and which still houses the training units for the French marines. It seems hardly necessary to say that the town is blessed with a large number of excellent restaurants and bars with fascinating opportunities for the universal pastime of sipping a cool drink while people watching. The town is surrounded by vine-covered hills cupping a calm bay with three safe swimming beaches. Continuing southwards, Port Vendres is a fishing and commercial port with excellent restaurants and a whole sale fish market open to the general public. Banyuls sur Mer is a classic mediterranean seaside town. Along the coast there is a number of small coves and pretty bays with accessible beaches such as Paulilles.

The accommodation is just the thing. Allan & Judith are very welcoming & knowledgeable about the area.
Try these restaurants: Ma Maison (Sorede) and Chez Max (St Andre). The pizza shop is good too (Villelongue).
Try also a hot shower by the pool.

Great Family Holiday

We had a great time here. The owners were very helpful with lots of local knowledge. The pool was great, lovely and clean and a great size, we could have breakfast/lunch/dinner on the terrace and keep an eye on our daughter in the pool. The appartment was very clean with everything you need, even a hairdryer in case you forget yours. We have had the perfect holiday, thanks to the owners Allan & Judy who helped us out when we missed our flight! We will return.

A fantastic little villa with lovely neighbours.

How hard it is to summerise this villa in just words alone.

Until you have stayed there you cannot truly appreciate the high standard of the gite, helpful, friendly nature of the owners living in the adjoining accommodation, and the beauty and tranquility of the setting.

Having stayed in Villelongue dels Monts for several years in a well equipped alternative villa I doubted this apartment could live up to my expectations.

But the clean, modern rooms, tastefully furnished, with all their mod cons could not fail to impress, and the immaculate grounds, laid to patio and planting - the latter a passion of the owners - left us wanting for nothing.

My two children, Amelie, 6, and Tiger, 3, are not the quietest in the world, but Judy and Allan - grandparents themselves - assured me they found the kiddie's chatter and raucous laughter utterly charming. What better way to convince a mother of two to kick back and relax on holiday!

On arrival Judy had even provided some basics - milk, bread, butter - and some none essentials - wine and a cold beer! - to make our evening arrival all the more comfortable.

The villa's location should suit anyone. Fab pizza, a bakers and a small shop a five minute walk away; the beach and great tourist villages - Collioure and Argeles - a 25-minute drive; the Spanish border, with easy access to seaside towns Roses (50 mins), Estertit (80 mins) and Barcelona (1hr 30mins) just 25 mins away.

If you want a chat, Judy and Allan are happy to oblige if they see you. If you prefer privacy they are noticeable by their absence. What more could a family want?

We loved our stay and would definitely return. Thank you.

A Piece of Paradise in the Sun

We spent 5 weeks in the winter time with Judy and Allan and were so captivated by the area we bought a house. The appartment is first class. Very well equipped to a high standard. Lovely and warm for the winter months, thanks to underfloor heating. Situated in a quiet location in a charming village, half-way between sea and mountains. Ideal for beach holidays, mountain walking, cycling, sailing and touring the wine region. A fascinating selection of tourist attractions - chateaux, monuments, arts/crafts,lively towns & gourmet restaurants all within easy reach. Judy and Allan are the perfect hosts and have a wealth of knowledge to share. Highly recommended!

Excellent séjour et super Gîte !

Nous avons passé une excellent séjour dans le gîte de Alan et Judy Sanders. Et on va sûrement retourner en été.

Le gîte est bien equippé, neuf et très propre.
il est bien situé dans la village de Villelongue dels Monts.
Ce n'est pas tres loin de la plage (environ 15 min en voiture) et entouré par les montagnes (Les Alberes).
La maison dispose d'une belle piscine et une terrace couvert pour manger.
C'est très jolie, et très calme, une endroit idéale pour se reposé et passé des belles vacances.
Alain et Judy sont super sympa !

Nous avons trouvé deux belles restaurants:
Restaurant Le Parc
1 Avenue Général de Gaulle
66190 Collioure

et
La Table de Cuisine
à St. André

Je recommende vivement ce gîte pour les gens qui aiment la mer et les montagnes.
