The loft apartment is on the 2nd floor of the farmhouse with stunning views across the house gardens & pool, the farms of Les Jardins, St. Jacques & Canigou, one the highest peaks in the Pyrenees forming a backdrop behind the city of Perpignan in the distance. The apartment has its own entrance from the garden & is a classic loft set-up with a large open living/dining area, a kitchen area, and toilet and shower room. The loft apartment has two bedrooms, one at either end of the loft space. The loft is an impressive space with attractive Mediterranean colours and typical loft features such as the impressive kitchen area lighting gantry. The farmhouse & loft apartment situated in the heart of a conservation area of working family farms and gardens growing fruit & vegetables, herbs and flowers. There are even two vineyards a palm tree nursery & various tree nurseries. This is a highly sought after location locally because of its peace & quiet. Night times are very peaceful.

The loft is situated in the heart of a conservation area of working family farms and gardens growing fruit and vegetables, herbs and flowers. There is even two vineyards a plam tree nursery and various tree nurseries. The area is called - les Jardins St. Jacques -which historically were the gardens for the monks of the St.Jacques church supplying produce to the growing conurbation of Perpignan. This is a highly sought after location locally because of its peace and quiet and yet the entrance to les Jardens St.Jacques is right on the edge of a very attractive side of Perpignan. You can walk to the attractive centre of the city from the house. The majestic mountain - Canigou dominates the horizon and during the day, the gardens are a haven for many types of birds and some exotic species migrate to the farmhouse gardens. Nigh times are very peaceful. Just 10 mins drive from the Mediterranean, 15min from Spain and the Pyrenean foothills, this is an amazingly convenient and lovely spot.

The farmhouse location : The Catalan farmhouse, which has nearly 4500sqm of gardens is bordered by an Apricot orchard, Olive grove and vine and palm tree nurseries. The house is situated approximately in the centre of a unique conservation area of fruit and vegetable farms and tree and plant nurseries called Les Jardins des St.Jacques. There is a lovely restaurant in walking distance from the farmhouse and 'Les Jardins SJ' is also home to a historic and picturesque village and two, first class vineyards.

The colourful and exotic city of Perpignan : Right on the doorstep of Les Jardins des StJacques is the city of Perpignan. It takes two minutes by car and is a lovely walk from the farmhouse. It is hard to think how anyone would want for more from a city. It is full of sophisticated shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and music clubs. There are many interesting festivals held in the city during the year. The old quarter of the city is home to several multi-cultural food markets and full of fascinating Catalan architecture. The icing on the cake is that almost at every turn, the city is full of exotic palm trees.

Roussillon, The Med, The Pyrenees & Spain: This is a truly superb region for any type of holiday you could wish for and at any time of year. Roussillon is the sunniest part of France with app. 320 sunshine days a year with the autumn being a real treat and break from colder parts of Europe. The Med resorts of Canet, Barcares, St.Cyprien and Argeles all with marvellous beaches are all just minutes away. The famous and beautiful Collioure, Ceret and Figueres in Spain are loaded with artistic history. The majestic Pyrenees wrap themselves around Roussillon and tumble into the Med, the lush countryside is quite simply carpeted with sun baked vineyards. If all that was not enough, the lovely Costa Brava of Spain is Roussillon's southern neighbour.

We were two couples on holiday together and we were very comfortable in the loft apartment which catered for our every need. We took full advantage of a lovely pool and the table tennis table aswell. It is based in a really good location as there is lots to do in the surrounding area.  A really great holiday.

Perfect just Perfect

I booked this property for a short break in May 2009 for a group of 5 mature males to just relax and watch rugby, it was just perfect.
The owners are extremely helpful and friendly, the information pack, that they email in advance is spot on, the property has everything you could possibly need, it is clean and well maintained.
The grounds are spotless and the location is more stunning than it looks on the website.
The pool is great fun and a group of oldish men played like teenagers for hours on the diving board (belly flops really hurt!).
The locals are really friendly and I regret not booking the property for longer to have enabled more exploring to take place.
Never mind we will just have to do it again next year when saints play catalan (if we had known the date of the fixture we would have rebooked it before leaving).

Fantastic holiday experience

We had a fabulous holiday in the loft apartment and felt we just had to pen this review , our first ever. The loft is a gem – part of a fabulous old farmhouse run by Terry and Sally who proved to be really charmingly attentive and relaxed hosts. Set in a development free fruit and veg farming area but within walking/cycling distance of Perpignan and a short drive from sea and mountains the loft proved to be an ideal base and the beautifully maintained pool just the place to chill with a good book or for a quick dip on return from exploring in the early evening. Our expecations were surpassed and the apartment was very well maintained and very clean. We’ll definitely be going back.

This apartment is a great place to stay, with a window overlooking the lovely gardens. It is well equipped with everything you would want on holiday. The area is a wonderful base from which to visit the gorgeous beaches and historic sites, and also to walk in to the city of Perpignan. We had a fabulous relaxing time here in a wonderful place thankyou.

We would not book here again. The apartment was a little untidy on our arrival and was short of some basic items. Our greeting on arrival was poor to say the least and the hosts did little by way of making us feel welcome. Some of the properties features were rather "tatty". This was the opinion of all of us and not just mine. Overall not value for money.
Owner's Response: Regarding review submitted october 14 entitled "disapointed".

We give any renters in the rental agreement 24hours after arrival to let the owner know if anything regarding the property or their experence needs addressing. The renter not only made no comment while they were here as to any issue that needed addressing but over 10 days expressed their enjoyment and on departure said that they had had a wonderful time.
At no point whatsoever did this renter express any dis-satisfaction. In fact they were relaxing at the property on many days quite obviously enjoying themselves.

On receiving notification of this review, the owner asked the next renter as the standard of the property, its presentation and its equipment and they give the property 10 out of 10.

The property is prepared by a france nationwide cleaning company. The property has been available for rent for the past 6 years and has provided many a happy holiday. The reaction when the reviewer was at the property was the same, a happy and contented renter.

If an owner is given no chance to address any disappointment whilst the renter is at the property, then really a review like this has no credability.

The issue raised about an offhand arrival is a mystery. The owner is justifiably proud of the property and setting and the owner looks forward to sharing its delights with every new arrival.

The owner knows of no reason why the renter has submitted this response. The owner will continue to improve the property year on year making a large investment to do so. The owner is proud to have been the provider of many pleasant memories to renters and the owner looks forward to sharing this lovely setting in the future to many more renters.
