Fully equipped apartment within, stone town-house(1790). Situated in an elevated position in the historic mountain village of St. Laurent De Cerdans. Full central heating and hot water. Kitchen/diner with south-west facing balcony with sun blind, commanding spectacular views of the mountain range of Canigou (10,000 ft). Main room has a sofa bed, easy chairs, dining table, kitchen area. Bathroom with bath/shower, wash basin, toilet and bidet. 2 double bedrooms each with twin beds. Bed linen and towels provided. Bedrooms look out onto attractive square with its ancient font de St. Antoni. All amenities within walking distance; post office, boulangerie, charcuterie, mini market, bank, restaurants, bars, swimming pool (open air, July-August only); a cinema which shows the most current movies. The historic, Catalan village of St. Laurent De Cerdans is situated on an open plateau in the mountains close to the border of Spain/Catalunya.The Mediterranean beaches of France and the Costa Brava are within easy reach. Close by is the art-culture of Ceret (Picasso) and Figueres (Dali) in Spain. Falgos golf course is 10 minutes away where facilities include health spa, pool, sauna and steam room. The village is unique in that it is within easy reach of the coast, sandy beaches or rocky coves; mountain activities are on the doorstep for the more energetic; you can shop and hang out at the French street cafes of Ceret and Perpignan; enjoy the vibrancy of the Spanish, and sample Catalan cuisine in Macanet De Cabrenys(15mns)Figueres(30mns) Girona and Barcelona; or just enjoy the tranquillity of the Pyrenees with gentle walks in the surrounding landscape. Notes: The apartment takes the whole of the 1st floor of a family home and is self contained. All room doors are lockable. There is a bed-sofa in the main room which acts as a spare bed where necessary. For cyclists, their is a cave/underground room available for storage of bikes which is accessible from the road via a passageway that leads directly to the cellar door. Guests are greeted with complimentary tea and fresh ground coffee plus a bottle of wine from the area.

cycle routes: This area has excellent mountain and road bike routes. On a mountain bike you can travel through the landscape on the loggers tracks which cut cross country, through the hills from village to village. A great way to explore the area off the beaten track. This part of France and Catalunya is the training ground for Tour De France competitors and road cycle enthusiasts. Directly from the apartment you can access some fantastic road routes each side of the boarder which take you high into the mountains with wonderful views across the Pyrenees. The village of St. Laurent isat altitude of about just under 700m. The apartment has bike storage facility in the cellar which can be accessed from the road.

health spa and golf resort: A 7min drive from the village, higher into the mountains, is Falgos golf resort which facilitates an excellent spa with swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, all open to non-members. There's also a well equipped multi-gym which commands excellent views of the Pyrenean landscape! There are several walks from the club-house which take you around the outskirts of the golf course from which you can take in the spectacular scenery of both Catalunya, looking down towards the Costa Brava, and France's Canigou mountain range. Afterwards, you can relax at the club-house sun terrace with a beer, glass of wine or coffee!
