Getting to Vernet by Air from UK:
Vernet is accessible from a wide range of airports, using low-cost airlines from UK such as Ryanair, Flybe, Easyjet and Jet2 . Perpignan airport is 50min (Ryanair/Air France); Girona 90 min ( Ryanair and package tour flights to the Costa Brava eg Airtours, Thomson, MyTravel who offer flight-only) and Girona airport is only 3 min from the Spain/France autoroute. Carcassonne, Montpellier, Toulouse or Barcelona are all 2-3 hour easy drives. The autoroutes and excellent main roads from all of these airports to Vernet-les-Bains provide good access from whichever airport you choose. There are car rental desks at all of the airports e.g. Hertz, Europcar, Avis – all bookable via the internet, or via your airline website when you book your flights -usually at a discount.
Getting to Vernet by Rail:
By Eurostar and TGV from Lille/Paris, or TGV from Paris, via Narbonne, to Perpignan rail station where there is a direct rail service to Villefranche de Conflent. From here Vernet-les- Bains can be reached by taxi or bus. There is also a direct coach service from Perpignan to Vernet. Driving to Vernet:
You may obtain a 25-50% discount on P&O Ferry bookings via this website. Routes from Channel ports and elsewhere can be obtained either from the Michelin website or from the RAC website.
Vernet-les-Bains is accessed via the excellent road to Andorra, the N116, which is clearly signed from Junction 42 of the A9-E15 autoroute (direction Prades & Andorra la Vella). From Villefranche de Conflent, Vernet is a 5km drive on the D116.
