This beautiful property is situated in ‘The Vallespir’, a valley of outstanding natural beauty, thirty miles from the Mediterranean Sea and at the start of the Pyrenean mountain range. Set on the edge of four acres of its own woodland it is extremely private but not isolated, 5 min. walk to village/tennis, ½hr drive to golf & 1hour Mediterranean beaches and the beautiful coastal resort of Collioure. The property has been tastefully furnished to the highest standards as a private home, not the usual basic holiday let. The very large pool (16x6m) for your sole use, is set just below the house on the lawned garden with flower beds and garden furniture to relax and enjoy the stunning views. ALSO AVAILABLE, BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY WITH PRIVATE POOL, IDEAL FOR COUPLES.

Picturesque Montferrer village, which is only a short walk, is now appearing in many tourist guides because of its old Romanesqe church and its spectacular views of the valley and coast. Although very small, it has a bar/restaurant, summer shop, swimming pool, crazy golf, children’s play area and tennis court. Locally available are guided walks, tours of local vineyards, pony trekking, 4x4 Off-roading, trout fishing and the professional 18 hole golf course at Falgos. The closest shops and supermarkets are in Arles-sur-Tech, a 15 minute drive.

Paradise

This holiday was just what we needed, total rest and relaxation with a fabulous over indulgence of bread, cheese and wine from the wonderful local markets and shops. If you wanted to there was a plethora of activities to be done and places to visit but why go off seeking paradise when you have in fact already found it.
For us the views topped it all whether swimming in the huge private pool, barbequing, eating on the patio or reclining in the sun lounge the breathtaking views of the scenic valley and mountain tops were always there to enjoy.
The accommodation was excellent, tastefully decorated, furnished and well kitted out making it a true home from home. Linda and Ian were the perfect hosts, nearby if you needed them yet very discreet at all times.
We loved it and can't wait to return, until then we will just have to dream about it.

Mas Can Galan is truly one of my favourite places in the world. The setting is tranquil, the scenery is stunning and Linda & Ian are the perfect hosts.

An early morning stroll to Monferrer, rewards you with the finest croissants. There are plenty of walks form the house or you laze around the swimming. The area of Catalonia (France & Spain) is a dream, good food, warm people, castles, beaches. But you will need a car.

Highly recommended!

Blow the cobwebs away

Wake up on the first morning and you don't even need to get out of bed to know it was worth the slightly hair-raising drive up the mountain - just open the curtains and take in the most stunning view you're ever likely to see with your pyjamas on.
The house is beautifully furnished, not at all like your average holiday home, with a cook's kitchen, stylish art on the walls, and more books on the shelves than you could read if you stayed for a year. Not that we did much reading. The walks are spectacular: stunning views, air so pure it's a health-cure in itself, fascinating plant life, and eagles soaring overhead.
And if the mountain scenery isn't enough, it's barely an hour to the coast. Collioure, a magnet for generations of artists, is one of the jewels of the Mediterranean coast. Spain is an easy drive away too - the Dali museum in Figueres is well worth a visit.
