Why we bought the house:
We bought this house because it was the prettiest we had seen and wanted a pied de terre for short visits. The house is in a quiet corner, looking down a sunny street yet close to every kind of small shop you might need. You can explore the narrow cobbled streets, drop in to artist’s studios, have a drink in a cafe on the shore, indulge in an extended meal in one of the many excellent restaurants where seafood is a speciality, or simply laze on the beach. In the summer there is a wide variety of entertainment, much of it free (concerts, dancing, cinema theatrical performances, fireworks displays and of course the nightlife and the casino). The stunning combination of mountains and sea and the sunniest climate in France make it the most sought-after destination on the coast. Out-of-season events include the autumn antiques fair, the New Year celebrations (fireworks and dancing on the beach), and the mysterious Easter procession
