The house is a traditional ‘maison de village’ situated in the centre of the village. It has 3 double bedrooms and a large terrace with panoramic views of Mount Canigou to the left and the Mediterranean sea to the right. The house has been completely refurbished with electric heating and fully equipped kitchen. Facilities include the terrace with outside eating area and loungers, satellite television, barbecue, CD player, washing machine and dishwasher. There are stunning walks in the immediate vicinity along the foothills and into the Alberes mountains behind the house. The beach is 15 mins drive away at Argeles and there are sports amenities in the village with tennis and basketball/football courts. Ideal for families, walkers, golfers (5 championship courses within a 1 hour drive) and people who love great weather, food and wine!

Located in the French region of Pyrenees Orientales, Montesquieu des Alberes is a small village set in the Alberes foothills of the Pyrenees. The Alberes is the mountain range forming the eastern section of the Pyrenees and its foothills are dotted by charming, tranquil, medieval villages. Close to the border of France and Spain, the Pyrenees Orientales has a strong Catalan influence. This cross-border region of the Pyrenees Orientales and Catalunya has a unique identity and language and is indisputably cosmopolitan, rich in heritage and culturally independent. The location offers a vast array of activities both sides of the border including beach life, city nightlife in Barcelona, mountain trekking, golf and historic sightseeing. The locality: The village has about 300 inhabitants, a local wine producer and sports amenities. The local Champion supermarket is located 10 mins away by car in Laroque des Alberes. There are numerous walks in the foothills and many secluded picnic spots minutes walk from the house. The beach at Argeles is 15 minutes by car and the heart of the mountains a 30 minute drive away. The border with Spain is 10 minutes by car with Barcelona a leisurely 2 hour drive south. The picturesque fishing village of Collioure is also well worth a visit, as is Ceret with its famous art museum.
