4 Bedroomed country villa private pool and spectacular views

An individual villa set in its own 4ha of grounds. Stunning views of mountains and the valley sweeping down to the plain. 4 spacious double bedded rooms with fully tiled en-suite facilities(3 with jet showers and 1 with a spa bath) Each room has a different perspective. Two look to the front towards the pool(1 with French windows giving access to outside)The other 2 look over the village down the valley. Hair-dryer in each room. Towels provided. Utility room with washing machine & freezer. Separate toilet on the ground floor. Fully equipped kitchen -microwave, gas range/electric oven, fridge. Electric heating. Video/satellite/DVD, Cd player all provided. Ample parking. The private pool is 8m x 4.5m with steps at either side of the shallow end. There is a naturally shady corner by the pool under a beech tree with a hazelnut grove stretching beyond. Sun loungers, tables & chairs and a gas BBQ are all provided.

El Couloume is about 5 km from the pretty medieval village of Serralongue. The nearest larger villages of Prats de Mollo and Saint Laurent de Cerdans are a 30 minute drive. We are an hour from the A9 autoroute. Spain can be accessed in about 45 minutes and we are an hour from Perpignan up the lovely Vallespir. Ceret has its renowned Museum of Modern Art and we are within easy reach of the Dali museum at Figueres. As far as beaches are concerned we are spoiled for choice.You have the lively beaches of Canet, Argeles and Saint Cyprien or the quiter coves of Colliure, Banyus etcetera. For a change there are the Spanish beaches as well. Rosas and Llanca are very popular. For those flying Perpignan is the nearest airport served by Ryanair but Gerona, Barcelona, Carcasonne and Toulouse are also all within a 3 hour drive. In the actual village of Serralongue a visit to the church is a must along with the local museum.

  • 4 doubles all en suite . There are two bedrooms at the head of the stairs facing you. One is decorated in pale yellow with a double fitted wardrobe with mirrored sliding doors in beechwood. The window looks onto the driveway and pool. The other bedroom is pink with dark fitted furniture and looks down the valley. The third bedroom is one step up from the landing at the beginning of the corridor. It is decorated in cream and blue again with a beechwood fitted wardrobe with sliding mirrors doors. There are French window leading to a path down to the front of the house and the pool. At the end of the corridor onto another landing and you have the master bedroom. This is decorated in cream and brown with dark brown fitted wardrobes with sliding mirrored doors. There are French windows with a superb view of the mountains and the valley sweeping down to the plain. Linen, towels, hairdryers provided.

Shops and Restaurants:

Serra longue has a very small general store, however the owner is renowned for her home made produce, sausages, local specialities, paté etcetera. There is a café/bar which is the local meeting point. The bar is also the place where you buy your bread! You can get a fixed menu at a reasonable price. Prats de Mollo and Saint Laurent de Cerdans are both about 30 minutes away by car. Both have supermarkets and a good selection of small shops. Prats has a large selection of restaurants plus a pizzeria and a snackery.

Leisure Facilities

Tennis Court - in the village Horse Riding - At Arles Sur Tech and Saint Laurent de Cerdans Golf- In the heart of the Roussillon forest, at a height of 1100 m the Domaine de Falgos Golf Club is an 18 hole course. There is also a spa with swimming-pool, sauna, hammam and jacuzzi.They also propose a range of beauty treatment, reflexology and balneotherapy for the non-golfers. Fishing and Shooting can also be found in the vicinity. Off-Roading- for those with 4x4 vehicles we can offer a range of road books to allow you to discover some hidden delights. Forest Adventure Park - For children and adults. A wide variety of activities including rock climbing and rope bridges for those who love a challenge!
