Large private villa - 5 minutes walk to small but lively village in Languedoc, with shops, restaurants and bars. Close to villages of Sorede and Laroque des Alberes it offers peace, quiet and fantastic views of the mountains with beaches of Argeles and Collioure close by - 10mins. Our village just 5 mins walk from our villa / house has a great choice of restaurants and bars with entertainment in the square during the summer but is still small enough to feel personal and friendly. Family friendly holiday with great choice of restaurants nearby and private enclosed pool. The villa has 4 bedrooms - 2 double, 2 twin / triple rooms, 2 bathrooms, modern fully fitted kitchen, large lounge and three terraces. Two covered for outside dining with a view and one large terrace with private pool (10x5m) in enclosed garden. Perfect for 2 families to share. The villa is close to many attractive Mediterranean beaches in France and Spain with easy access to the Pyrenees for walking or skiing.

Sorede is situated in the southern most part of France (the Languedoc Roussillon) close to the Spanish border. It is a friendly village in the picturesque foothills of the Alberes mountain range and about 10 minutes from the coast. The village is typically French with several restaurants and bars, butcher, bakers and a small grocery shop. It is 30 minutes from Perpignan airport, 1 hour from Girona just over the Spanish border and 2 hours from Barcelona. The Languedoc is famous for its many great wines, with several great vineyards close to our house.

Notes: There are two bedrooms and a bathroom / wc upstairs and two bedrooms and a shower/ hip bath and separate wc downstairs making it ideal for two families that want to share or one large group. The upstairs bedrooms may be unsuitable for very young children or the elderly or infirm as they are reached by an open tread wooden staircase. A cot and highchair are available. The kitchen is fully fitted with all modern equipment including kettle, hob, oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave. There is a large open plan lounge with sofas, easy chairs, tv/dvd/video and mini hi-fi system. A large terrace runs along the back of the house with access from the kitchen and the lounge. The swimming pool is alarmed and fully fenced making it safe for children. The garden is large and there is plenty of off road parking.

We, a party of 4 adults and 5 children rented this beautiful villa for a week (18th july to 25th july 09). Every morning one woke up to a magical picture of mountains lush with greenery and a fantastic pool, a scene exactly like the one in your mind's eye!! The house itself is spacious, giving towards children and adults alike, with defined eating, lounging, relaxing with a drink spaces, both indoor and out. All possible needs are met at this location - swimming and sun bathing, bbq's, local eateries within walking distance, plenty of walks, local and fresh produce everywhere.
