Gites Sorede comprises a 2 bedroom house (sleeps 2-4 with wood burner) a duplex 1 bedroom apartment (sleeps 2-3) & a 1 bed apartment (sleeps 2). Sorede is a picturesque village near the Mediterranean Sea. The old-town location is quiet, yet only a couple of minutes walk from the shops, restaurants, market, swimming pool, tennis courts & tourist office. Each house/apartment has it's own terrace for outdoor eating & WIFI. The apartments are particularly peaceful as they overlook trees & fields. They are all newly renovated to a high standard. The fully equipped kitchens and modern bathrooms/ shower rooms make life comfortable. Staying here you will feel very much part of the village. Even in summer Sorede keeps its authenticity & slow pace of life, yet it is only 10 minutes drive from the seafront. Many other attractions including beautiful Collioure, Spain, mountains & fun parks are easily accessible. Stop smoking courses available. Treat yourself to an Osteopathic massage or Yoga

Maison Canigou is a traditional Catalan house on two floors, situated on a characterful street with little traffic. It is tastefully renovated throughout. Parking is possible outside the house to load & permanent parking is free & easily found nearby. Ground floor: comprises separate kitchen, sitting / dining room, separate WC. The light, airy kitchen is modern oak with stainless steel oven & dishwasher & traditional Catalan tiles. It is fully equipped, including microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster. The sitting/dining room is light & sunny with a wood burning stove, sofa-bed & TV. From here there is direct access to the terrace with outdoor table, chairs, sun loungers & parasol. Upper floor: 2 bedrooms & bathroom all with good views. The main bedroom has a double bed the other two single beds. Both have balconies with French doors & good views.The bathroom is modern & stylish with full size bath, shower & W.C.There are heaters & fans in all rooms. Shared washing machine on site.

Sorede is an undiscovered gem nestling in the foothills of the Alberes part of the Pyrenees, yet only 10 mins from the sandy mediterranean beaches & sparkling sea. This enchanting village has several good restaurants & all the necessary amenities & shops including: boulangeries, bank, post office, children’s playground & tourist information office. It's attractions include a twice weekly market, turtle zoo & riding stables. Sorede is very authentic & friendly. A thriving local population means it is open for business all year round. From Sorede you are well situated to visit many other interesting places including vibrant Ceret Market (overflowing with local produce) & museum of modern art. Perpignan 20 minutes drive. Beautiful Colliure, a romantic seaside village is a must. Spain's Costa Brava, Girona & Barcelona are in day trip range. Mountains, thermal bathes & ski slopes are all accessible. This is a great base for sun, sea & sites either for a family or a couple.

  • A 30% payment is due on booking in Euros to our French account.The payment is made directly to our bank account.Payment is also possible for new bookings in Sterling directly to our English account. We can also accept payment in Euros via PayPal. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to your stay. If you book within 8 weeks of your stay we will need payment in full. A security deposit of £200/euros is paid on arrival. This will be returned either on leaving or within 2 weeks if all is in order.
    €10 off for bookings of two weeks or more.5% couples discount outside July/August
    Cleaning is available for £15/20e an hour.
    Linen available for £5/7.50e per week per person

Sore de is especially warm in Autumn/Winter/Spring. It is more protected than the coast & remains warmer than the mountains. This is partly why we live here ourselves! 5% couples discount for Maison Canigou our 2 bed house outside June to September.

All units have good heating when required & have access to shared washing machine & their own dishwasher. The beds are new with good mattresses which we know will be especially important if you suffer from back problems.

We satyed in this lovely french village house in May. The location of the property coudn't have been better. It was within walking distance to the square and shops.
The location was in a quiet area of the village and any locals who passed by were more than pleasent.
We had everything we needed within the house and the kitchen was exceptionally well equipped. The owners really had thought of everything.
The surrounding area did not dissapoint either. Colliure was the highlight and we visited here on more than one occasion.
Caroline is a real lady and went out of her way to make our stay most enjoyable. We will defineately stay here again and will be bringing friends the next time.

Clean comfortable apartment with a lovely private balcony. Ideal for two. Very well equipped, all essential items available. Village quiet and peaceful. Short distance to local beaches and city. Wonderful rock pools up in the mountains also only a short distance away. Recommended. Mike and Orna.

Welcoming Village House

We stayed in Maison Canigou, which is the house fronting the village street. It was spotlessly clean and well-furnished with everything we needed, including a cupboard full of games which kept our grand-daughter amused. The kitchen has everything, including dishwasher, cooker hood and a very swish ceramic hob plus oven.
If you want to eat out, there are three good restaurants within easy walking distance. As the house is in the heart of the village, there is a choice of two boulangeries for the breakfast croissants within three minutes walk.
The road outside the house is very quiet, with little traffic, and passers-by always said hello and would stop to chat if you encouraged them with some school French.
The owners, James and Caroline, could not have been more welcoming and although we thought we knew the area already, they gave us some good ideas for new things to do.
Lastly, this was great value for money and we would certainly stay there again.

Best holiday yet!

Caroline and James helped to make our holiday in the beautiful Pyrenees-Orientales the best holiday we have ever had. The villa was immaculate and well stocked.They were very knowledgable about the area,including restaurants,activities,seasonal events etc.We felt very welcome and at home as soon as we were greeted.at the door.I would definately recommend this property to my many friends and relatives in the U.S.A. We also plan to return to Gites Sorede and to our welcoming hosts as soon as we can!

We are having more & more people from the U.S.A. & Canada which is interesting. Our area has such a different lifestyle to these countries that it is a real eye opener for visitors from these parts.
Here there is always time to relax & stop for a chat etc. Nothing is more important than enjoying life!

A very pleasant holiday in Sorede

A very comfortable house in a charming village. The surrounding area is beautiful and offers lovely mountain views and the nearby sea. Many activities available including visits to towns such as Collioure. The owners, James and Caroline, are extremely friendly and helpful. Most definitely a place I hope to re-visit and would strongly recommend it to anyone.
Owner's Response: We understand that holidays are precious times, so we do our best to make sure our guests enjoy their stay & are comfortable. We are there to help should anyone need it, Living only 10 minutes walk away from the gites helps.

The area is very special so one can enjoy a whole variety of different scenery & activities & return home refreshed & relaxed.
