Gites Sorede comprises a 2 bedroom house (sleeps 2-4 with wood burner) a duplex 1 bedroom apartment (sleeps 2-3) & a 1 bed apartment (sleeps 2). Sorede is a picturesque village near the Mediterranean Sea. The old-town location is quiet, yet only a couple of minutes walk from the shops, restaurants, market, swimming pool, tennis courts & tourist office. Each house/apartment has it's own terrace for outdoor eating & WIFI. The apartments are particularly peaceful as they overlook trees & fields. They are all newly renovated to a high standard. The fully equipped kitchens and modern bathrooms/ shower rooms make life comfortable. Staying here you will feel very much part of the village. Even in summer Sorede keeps its authenticity & slow pace of life, yet it is only 10 minutes drive from the seafront. Many other attractions including beautiful Collioure, Spain, mountains & fun parks are easily accessible. Stop smoking courses available. Treat yourself to an Osteopathic massage or Yoga

This newly renovated ground floor apartment has a large terrace area with views over fields & trees, so is particularly peaceful, despite being near to all the amenities. You may even get a sighting of our local friendly hedgehog! The kitchen/sitting room has direct access to the terrace for outdoor eating/drinking. The kitchen is modern oak with traditional catalan tiles, an oven, ceramic hob & plenty of equipment. A large widow overlooks the terrace, trees etc'. There is a sofa bed, marble table & chairs, coffee table & TV. The modern shower room also has WC & sink. The cosy cave-like bedroom has a double bed & cupboard. Heaters & fans are provided in all rooms. In the cellar there is a shared washing machine & ironing facilities. Parking is free & easily found nearby. There is everything you would need for a longer stay too. Ask about special rates;

Sorede is an undiscovered gem nestling in the foothills of the Alberes part of the Pyrenees, yet only 10 mins from the sandy mediterranean beaches & sparkling sea. This enchanting village has several good restaurants & all the necessary amenities & shops including: boulangeries, bank, post office, children’s playground & tourist information office. It's attractions include a twice weekly market, turtle zoo & riding stables. Sorede is very authentic & friendly. A thriving local population means it is open for business all year round. From Sorede you are well situated to visit many other interesting places including vibrant Ceret Market (overflowing with local produce) & museum of modern art. Perpignan 20 minutes drive. Beautiful Colliure, a romantic seaside village is a must. Spain's Costa Brava, Girona & Barcelona are in day trip range. Mountains, thermal bathes & ski slopes are all accessible. This is a great base for sun, sea & sites either for a family or a couple.

  • A 30% payment is due on booking in Eurosor Pounds to our French or UK account . The payment is made directly to our bank account. We can also accept payment in Euros via PayPal. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to your stay. If you book within 8 weeks of your stay we will need payment in full. A security deposit of £200/euros is paid on arrival. This will be returned either on leaving or within 2 weeks if all is in order.
    €10 off for bookings of two weeks or more outside July/Aug.
    Cleaning is available for £15/20e an hour.
    Linen is available for £5/7.50e per person per week.
  • 5% off rentals of three weeks or more outside November to April.

Sore de is especially warm in Autumn/Winter/Spring. It is more protected than the coast & remains warmer than the mountains. This is partly why we live here ourselves! 5% couples discount for Maison Canigou our 2 bed house outside June to September.

All units have good heating when required & have access to shared washing machine & their own dishwasher. The beds are new with good mattresses which we know will be especially important if you suffer from back problems.

Our stay at Minosa

We had a brilliant stay in Sorede. The appartment was very clean and well presented on our arrival and the bottle of wine was a pleasant suprise after our long jouney. The appartment is very well fitted out and enabled us to cook a meal for 8 people as if we were doing it at home. We had rented all 3 properties and found it ideal for our family get together. The bed was extremly comfortable and well fitted and the outside space was an asset especially when catering for a lot of people. The owner Caroline was really helpful during the booking process and was very pleasant when we met her.The only down side for me as I have difficulty walking was the rough pathway leading to the back appartments but this was only a minor problem and didn't ruin our stay. Sorede is a very nice village with pleanty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. Our overall opinion of the house and appartments and Sorede in general, BRILLIANT.

das Mimosa war ideal für unseren 3wöchigen Aufenthalt im Hochsommer (25.7.09 - 14.8.09), die Terrasse ist schattig und auch im Appartement wird es nie zu warm. Die Nähe zum Meer ( ca. 15 Min zum Strand) und zum Tourismusrummels und doch die Abgeschiedenheit eines kleinen Bergdorfs waren eine gute Kombination. Die Sightseeingmöglichkeiten in der ganzen Gegend sind grandios, allerdings nicht ohne Auto machbar. Das Mimosa ist gut in Schuß, hübsch eingerichtet und sehr gut ausgestattet. Caroline und James waren sehr nette und fürsorgliche Gastgeber. Wir haben uns in dieser Zeit prächtig erholt und können das Appartement uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Mimosa SEP/2009 for 20 days

My wife, my little son (9 months) and I almost stayed 3 weeks in Mimosa and had a jolly good time.
The kitchen was very well equipped and the bedroom was set-up nicely with a comfortable and spacious bed, some bookshelfs and bedside lamps.
Even though the apartment was not that big, that didn't really matter to us, as we didn't spend too much time inside. Most of the time we were hiking up in the mountains or laying at the beaches (both around 15-30 minutes away by car) or - mostly in the evenings - sitting on the terrasse making barbecue.
Additionally Sorède and the surrounding villages offer lots of opportunities to enjoy french atmosphere - sitting in bars, shopping or just strolling around.
We met Catherine and James and found them both extremely friendly and helpful.

We would highly recommend the Mimosa (and also the other apartments that we could also have a quick glance at) to couples, even with a baby or a little child.
With more children, the other apartments would be probably more suitable than the Mimosa.

Nah am Meer und doch so entspannend

Sorède ist ein ruhiger Ort, der einen Bade-, Wander- und Sightseeing-Urlaub ermöglicht. Bars, Restaurants und die wichtigsten Geschäfte sind zu Fuss in fünf Minuten erreichbar. Der Strand (Argeles-Plage) in zehn Minuten mit dem Auto. Die Wohnung ist ruhig, gut ausgestattet und sauber, die Terrasse liegt wunderbar im Schatten. Reservierung und Buchung hat wunderbar geklappt, vielen Dank an die freundlichen Gastgeberin Caroline. Wir können diese Wohnung sehr empfehlen.

Honeymoon in Sorede

Sorede is not perhaps the typical honeymoon destination, but then we were not typical newly weds, after 19 years together and with a 3 year old in tow! However Sorede proved to be a gem of a place and just what we wanted for a relaxing break after our wedding. The apartment is small but the generous kitchen/living space makes it feel spacious and it is very well equipped. The large shady terrace was a lovely place to start and end each day, sitting with a drink while Mimi played or pottered about watering the plants. The apartment is within easy reach of many superb beaches and there is loads to do, with or without kids. We visited The Valley of the Tortoises, a childrens farm, Museum of Modern Art in Ceret, Collioure (fabulous, picturesque seaside town), went to the top of a 6000m mountain etc all within 30/40 mins drive. Caroline and her husband were very welcoming and friendly and the one (small) problem we did have was solved the same day, so excellent customer service! The apartment was clean and well-maintained. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend.
