A luxuriously restored wine cave with heated swimming pool & parkland

Set amongst vineyards, apricot and peach orchards in their own landscaped parkland, our converted wine cave offers five luxurious holiday lodges. Each lodge comprises fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator and freezer. Paved patio area with table chairs and barbecue. Dining area, lounge area, 3 double bedrooms (single, double or bunk beds), bathroom, shower room, furnished sun terrace and solarium. Each lodge has use of the HEATED SWIMMMING POOL and parkland. Mas San Julian is situated just outside Thuir, an interesting, bustling market town, unspoilt by tourism with traditional shops, supermarkets, cafes, bars and restaurants in which to sample the local cuisine. Set in a fine wine growing region, Thuir is a superb location for either a quiet relaxing, or action packed holiday. The extent of exploration in the area is beyond belief with its enticing markets, exotic gardens, rock pools, spectacular caves, gorges and rivers.

Our lodges are located 1.5 kms from the town centre of Thuir which is an ideal centre for all types of holidays. The beach, the mountains and Spain are all approximately 20 minutes by car, offering a wealth of opportunities to explore this fantastic unspoilt region of France.

    A NON REFUNDABLE deposit of 25% is required to secure your lodge, the balance along with a security deposit of £300 is required 8 weeks before your arrival via direct transfer. We strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

The list of sight seeing opportunities easily accessible within a day is exhaustive. On your doorstep: THUIR - LES CAVES BYRRH(housing the largest oak vat in the world). CASTELNOU - a wonderful example of a fortified village sleeping peacefully behind its ramparts. THE PYRENEES, constantly in view and a short drive away take you to many beautiful and interesting destinations: PRADES - (birthplace of Cellist Pable Casals). VILLEFRANCHE-DE-CONFLENT a fortified town dating back to the 11th and 15th century - a good place to catch 'LE TRAIN JAUNE' if you prefer not to drive on the mountain roads. The road to CORNEILLA leads to the GRANDES CANALETTES a cave known familiarly as the 'underground Versailles of Pyrenees' due to its ivory stalagmites. Alternatively, take the road off to: SAINT-MARTIN-DU-CANIGOU, an incredible sight and architectural revolution. Continuing along the mountain route to Font Romeu and Pyrenees 200,popular winter ski resorts, equally popular during summer.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

Whatever your hobby or interest, you are sure to be enticed back to the Languedoc Roussillon region of France to continue exploring and lapping up the delights of the area. GOLF - there are several good golf courses within driving distance of Mas San Julian - not to mention Domaine de Falgos with its stunning views. Half an hour into Spain opens up yet more opportunities to enjoy some spectacular Spanish courses. WATER SPORTS - 20 minutes to the beach and you have an enormous range of water sports facilities, from scuba diving to pedalos, children’s play clubs and an enormous water theme park. EATING OUT - There is a wide variety of good restaurants locally, with international cuisine in Perpignan (12 kms). By English standards the restaurants are very reasonable priced with a good selection of wine at very realistic prices. WINES - Languedoc Roussillon supply one in ten bottles of the worlds wines, hence an excellent region for the wine enthusiast.

THUIR provides adequate facilities to service all food requirements, with local bakers open daily Local shops offer a wonderful selection of pastries, fresh fish, meat, fruit and vegetables. A choice of two supermarkets are situated on the outskirts of the town and more extensive facilities such as hyper-markets, clothes/sports and toy shops are available in PERPIGNAN commercial centres or in the fascinating old town of PERPIGNAN where you can find many interesting shops and boutiques offering designer clothing.

We stayed at the property inn April 07 and can say it is an absolutely beautiful property. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The hosts are very knowledgeable about the area and helped us immensely with days out and an easier way back to Gerona airport. It is a very quiet area so will not suit everyone but in our party we had ages ranges from 9 to 64 and we all had a great time and said we would like to return someday.
