Charming and spacious house situated in a small village at 1000m of altitude in the Oriental Pyrenees. This 12th Century house has large and friendly living rooms. A terrace offers a magnificent view onto the mountain of the Canigou (2800m). The quiet and well-preserved village is situated, near the main roads, in an excellent location from where you can explore the area. A Nature Reserve that offers numerous possibilities of hiking is located just behind the village. The Oriental Pyrenees have a double advantage: the mountain and the sun. Jujols Nature Reserve
The Nature Reserve of Jujols offers several varied walking itineraries from the village based on different themes. The house of the Natural Reserve allows you to learn some more. During vacations, the guides of the Reserve propose guided tours. At the same time, this reserve has a rich geological heritage, as well as rich flora and fauna. It is indeed situated in an area between the sea and the mountain, under a Mediterranean climate.
Barcelona
Barcelona is located at a 2 hours driving distance. The visit of this modern capital of Catalonia can be coupled with the discovery of the Mediterranean coast, wild and indented coast punctuated by coves, beaches and magnificent harbours (Banyuls, Collioure, Cadaquès...), that inspired many painters such as Matisse or Dali..
Land of history and culture
The Oriental Pyrenees, by the sea, are a land of cultural exchanges and ancient civilizations. The tracks of this history are numerous and well -preserved (for example, the abbeys and Romance chapels are among the oldest of France). So, the Oriental Pyrenees combines mountain leisure and sports with cultural exploration. The international renowned festival of Pablo Casals takes place every year, in July, in Prades (20 km). The Roman thermal baths with the hot springs are located 10 minutes away from the house and allow you to relax after a good day of walking.
