Completely private garden with pool and shaded dining areas. Sun lounger’s, chairs with a generous sun decking area with large parasol. Barbeque area and private shower in the pool room. Inside there is a large living room with TV, DVD with a Sky TV link. Dining table seats 10 comfortably. There is a fitted kitchen with dishwasher a large fridge plus a large fridge/freezer and washing machine in the garage. Two bedrooms have double beds, one bedroom with one single bed and one bedroom has bunk beds with a single bed. All bedrooms have plenty of wardrobe space. There is a toilet upstairs and downstairs and a large bathroom upstairs with corner bath and shower. The whole house is recently refurbished and is 10 minutes from the beach. 10 minutes from the Airport. 15 minutes from centre of Perpignan and Canet plage. 1.5 hrs from the mountains and skiing where there are fantastic views. Rousillon has wine, food, culture and leisure.

Nearest Train: Perpignan at 10 Kilometres
Nearest Motorway: A7 at 5 Kilometres

Car: recommended
Claira is just north east of Perpignan in the Roussillon area. Perpignan the local airport is less than 10 minutes drive away. Flights from March are from Southampton with Flybe. From London Stansted and Dublin with Ryanair and from Manchester with BMIbaby. Alternative airports are Carcassone (1hr) or Montpellier (1.5 hrs) or Girona (40 mins) or Barcelona (1.75hrs). The village has a bar/tabac newsagent, pizzeria, chemist, wine co-operative, bakery, and florist. There is a large supermarket within 1.5 miles. Close at hand there are large playing fields and a boules park is 20 yards away. There is a large Sunday market at St Laurent de la Salanque at 5 mins drive away along with the other local villages of St Hippolyte and Bompass which have further very good restaurants. Ten minutes drive to a selection of lovely beaches and the area benefits from some stunning scenery and fascinating French villages including Castelnou, Collioure, Canet Plage, Argeles, Thuir, Ceret.

Notes: Bathroom comprising large corner bath, power shower, bidet and two basins. Separate toilets upstairs and downstairs, outside shower and pool house with further toilet. Whilst the house is semi-detached, the adjoining property is a bungalow therefore the villa has a totally private garden. Local boules park close at hand and large playing fields within walking distance. There is also table football in the garage along with 4 bicycles and a few board games/packs of cards in the living room with playstation 1 with limited games.

Booking Details: We do try to be flexible on changeover dates although generally in high season it will be Saturday. Details of key holding can be obtained from ourselves once the accommodation is booked. We hope you will enjoy this house and area as much as we do.

We have really enjoyed our holiday and my elderly parents thought it was wonderful as well and certainly wouldn't hesitate to re-book if we visit the area again'. As other reviews we found the villa well equipped, clean and tidy, spacious with a lovely pool. The village was quiet but friendly and we enjoyed using the local bakery. The biggest supermarket Carrefour is just a 5 minute drive up the road and has everything (I promise you) that you could possible need!

5 out of 5 is perfection but being critical (possible over critical) the barking dogs day and night and the slightly forgotten garden just took the edge off for us hence the 4 out of 5 rating we have given this property.

Having said all that we did enjoy our relaxing week in Claira.

So good we've been three times so far.......

Just twenty minutes from Perpignon airport by car to Claira. On the doorstep there is a huge supermarket together with other outlets in which to spend your Euros. There are many small towns and villages within a short distance, these include Perpignon, Ceret and our particular favourite Coulliere. Should you wish to venture further, you have Carcassone, The Pyrenees, even Barcelona is not too far away.
The property is clean, tidy and there is ample room. The outside area is well maintained so you could just chill out by the pool if so desired.
There are bikes available for use if you wish to ditch the car. There are pleasant areas to cycle or walk in and around Claira.
The locals are friendly and would highly recommend this property for a long or short term stay.

Have stayed in this property 3 times, and each time it gets better. The property and location is perfect. Everything is close at hand, this includes Perpignan Airport being only 20 minutes drive to property, large supermarket only minutes away by car, plus other shopping outlets in the same vicinity. Easy access by car to a number of villages/towns, including Perpignan, Ceret, Pyrenees and our particular favourite, Collioure. If you are wanting to travel and explore further afield, there are many more towns ie Carcassone, Toulouse even Barcelona is not too far away.
The property is idyllic, plenty of room, clean and tidy, the outside area is well maintained and there is a lovely pool to chill out by.
There are bikes at your disposal and the surrounding area excellent to explore.
Highly recommend this property for either a short or long stay.

The two reviews say it all and we are in complete agreement. All was perfect even if the weather was a little sketchy in late October. We enjoyed this house and its spaciousness with our three boys. A great base to go sightseeing and enjoy the Mediterranean. Neighbors are so very friendly but the neighboring dogs can be tiresome. We've already recommended this property to a friend.

This is a home not just a house.The villa was the cleanest and most well equipped we've ever stayed in.The garden and pool were lovely both day and night and the interior of the villa was tastefully decorated.However its also the little things that matter,there were plenty towels,child friendly crockery,plenty of clean pans to use and a great washing line with plenty of pegs!
The village of Claira was quiet with fairly basic shops but whatever you couldnt buy there you could buy at shops within a 5-10 minute drive.
Claira is a great base to go exploring from and indeed there are so many things to see we would love to go back for another fortnight.The beaches in the area are within a short drive and we never had any problems parking even in the height of Summer.We understand that strong winds can sometimes be a bit of a problem in the area but when the weather is so hot it can be a bit of a relief to have a breeze.
We wouldn't usually like to visit the same place twice but for this lovely property we would make an exception!
