A most attractive stone barn conversion with private pool, situated in the stunning Tet valley, in a quiet location on the outskirts of Eus, officially 'un des plus beaux village de France', one of the prettiest villages in France, the property enjoys one of the most beautiful views in the area, and is equipped and furnished to a very high standard with terracotta floors on all floors. This region of France enjoys the mildest climate in the country. Summers are hot and winters are mild. There are over 300 days a year of sunshine in the region. Even in the winter the sun can be quite warm, and temperatures rarely fall below freezing. The climate, geography and rich history of the area ensures that you will never be short of things to do.

Notes: The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee percolator, iron and ironing board. Cooking utensils, crockery, and glasses more than sufficient for 10 people. The Dining room has a large dining table to seat 10 with dresser and sideboard. The lounge is a huge area with plenty of comfortable new leather sofas and its own bar. A large wood burning stove provides additional heating when necessary, with ducted heating to the upper floor when required. The principal en-suite bedroom Double king size bed with two bedside cabinets, dressing table, double wardrobe and large fully fitted en-suite bathroom with corner bath, separate shower cubicle, double basins, WC and bidet. There are 4 further bedrooms, 1 en-suite with double bed, a further double bedroom and 2 twins all attractively furnished and a family bathroom with separate WC. Radiator heating is provided. Terracotta flooring throughout.

Golf and Ski facilities: Golf is available at Font Romeu, an interesting 9 hole course (45 mins by car) where you can also hire clubs. Skiing is also available at Font Romeu and Les Angles (which is about 1 hour away by car).

Facilities: All beds are provided with pillows, and duvets. Bed linen and towels are also included (not beach or pool towels). The rooms are cleaned weekly and the bed linen and towels changed weekly The price also includes gas, water and electricity. The property enjoys full central heating(for the winter bookings),and there is a large log burning stove in the lounge. Outside: A private and exclusive large 10m x 5m pool with Roman steps(available from 1st May - 31st October), set in a large, south facing, paved terrace with shrubs. Fully equipped with 10 sun beds with cushions. There is also a gas BBQ and a table and chairs to seat 10 under the pergola especially for those 'al fresco' meals. Off-road parking for 3 cars.

The area: This area is ideal for all kinds of holidays. There are miles of blue flag sandy beaches on the Mediterranean within 35 minutes. Inland there is wonderful walking countryside and stunning scenery. From the beginning of December to the end of March skiing is available at the resorts of Les Angles and Font Romeu, 55 minutes drive away, and tax-free shopping at Andorra within easy reach. There is a mountain lake with a sandy beach just 10 minutes from the property. This is safe for children as there is a lifeguard on duty; there is also a snack bar. The Pyrenees can also be explored from the famous Little Yellow Train, which runs from Villefranche de Conflent to Latour de Carol. Ski: The Pyrenees are 50 mins away. Plenty of good skiing December through to March, with lessons available at Les Angles and Font Romeu. The ski slopes are good and not as busy as the more popular Alps.

Golf: There is a 9 hole golf course nearby and a Championship 27 hole golf course at St Ciprien (1 hours drive).

Beautiful location, great family vacation house

This was a terrific house in almost every way. We were two families, four adults and three kids 11 - 14; plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Lovely pool, stunniing views of village and Mt Canigou, excellent location in fascinating area of Roussillon. We would recommend to friends, definitely! Easy drive to markets (Prades, Collioure, etc.), beaches, fabulous oysters on coast at Leucat, historic/cultural sites, breathtaking landscapes...we were there at summer's end and had missed the intense heat and potential crowds of August, but therefore also had a couple of grey and almost cool days. House caretakers were nearby, friendly, helpful, English speaking and dealt with pool and plumbing issues that arose. However, unless we got them on the phone directly, we couldn't reach them -- messages were not returned. Notably, there was no internet service or phone -- we had expected it from the description; we had mobiles, but this meant high phone fees as we are from the US. The gas grill, though new, was flimsy and made sputtering sounds, turning off suddenly, not cooking evenly; we love to cook outside, so this was a problem. The fridge was iced up inside and froze our food (apparently due to previous renters and the caretakers were aware but it remained unresolved) and arriving late on a Saturday left us without adequate loo paper or other important staples (milk! salt!); the Super U closes early on Sunday and we didn't get there in time. Also we had to purchase dishwasher & washing machine detergent when we were only there for a week and wouldn't need much ... not a big complaint, more of an inconvenience. Perhaps it was because we were the last renters of the summer... Anyway, on the whole our experience was truly a happy, positive one, and we were very comfortable and relaxed there, with plenty of room for all 7 of us!
