The apartment sleeps 4 & consists of 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedded room, sitting room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, large dressing room & a private terrace. And the bright & sunny studio, with it's roof top terrace with breathtaking views of Uzes, sleeps 2, and consists of 1 double bedroom, kitchen/dining area, and bathroom. Both are beautifully decorated and furnished, in keeping with the 17th century.

This bright spacious apartment, with its ambiance of history and charm within, and its views of this wonderful historic town and ancient towers without--- Is really quite unique. The apartment has a small library of books and videos, for that moment of repose. The charming terrace has a wonderful view of the three ancient towers which go back to the 12hC ,against the beautiful backdrop of the Garriigues. This may be rented short or long term, alone , or together with the studio directly above--------Giving, three double bedrooms, two bathrooms and two terraces. This makes an ideal grand apartment in the center of town.( extra studio available from 23rd August ) Oh yes , I must add-- The beds are comfortable, and it is beautifully furnished. Uzes is an exceptionally beautiful town situated on a rocky promontory on the edge of the Cevennes hills, close to the Pont-du-Gard and Avignon (5 hr from London by eurostar). Uzes is also close to Nimes and Montpellier both of which have daily flights from London Luton airport with Ryanair. Its Medieval towers dominate the lush green valley of the river Alzon which takes its source from the Eure, venerated since ancient Roman times & whose waters flowed in the aquaduct from Uzes to Nimes, passing over the Pont-du-Gard. The town is surrounded by a countryside not unlike Tuscany. Vines, cereal crops, olives, almonds, figs, apricots & cherry trees are cultivated in the ancestral manner. The locally produced goats cheese, honey, wine & provencal vegetables, are all of an excellent quality. With the Luberon & Camargue close by, Uzes is located in an ideal resting place. The beauty of its architectural heritage, & its exceptional brightness offer a remarkable quality of life.

Cannot use enough superlatives for this property - the decor, the furnishings, the emplacement , the style , the wonderful breakfast terrace - everything was perfect and very well cared for by the owner. Many restaurants within easy reach - great bakery - wonderful walking around Uzes in the evening there were so many different ways of getting back to our house- already booked again for another visit!
One negative would be for elderly visitors - appartment is on 2nd floor no lift and the stairs are 18th century and not always straight so danger of slipping or tripping and you have to carry your luggage up so dont pack too heavily!

It is such a good feeling to read that our apartment or studios are really appreciated .---Thank you . The stairs are 17th century , and this being a historical monument,it would be a crime to install a lift which would look incongruous to say the least ! ( Also not allowed )
We do state in our publicity that the property is not suitable for small children or the elderly .
I must add when Annie arrived the stairs were poorly lit, not because of carelessness but because it is difficult to create good lighting that will not spoil the ambience of our beatifull staircase. This has now been rectified.
But as always " BE CAREFUL ON THE STAIRS ! "
