If you're looking for an idyllic spot for a holiday, deep in the south of France, beautifully renovated, surrounded by vineyards, woodlands, lavender fields and ancient villages, you've just found it... 'Les Beaux Terroirs' are four self catered 'gites', recently converted from 250-year old buildings on the edge of a village surrounded by the Rhone vineyards of southern France. With a brand new swimming pool and mature gardens, it's a perfect spot for a break any time of the year. We're open for the following: summer, spring/autumn, winter, Xmas/New Year; weekly, fortnightly, short break/long weekend; self-catered. Please enquire for details.

Gigondas is a large cottage offering accommodation for up to 8-10, with a massively spacious living room, a wonderful high-ceilinged kitchen/dining room, plus a beautiful private rose-covered terrace that faces west for those evenings in the sun. The gite has been beautifully renovated to retain as much of the original character as possible, to be light and airy, to offer an excellent level of comfort and combine a mixture of antique and more contemporary furnishings. The kitchen/dining area is luxuriously equipped, with SMEG and Bosch appliances. The living room has a wood-burning stove in the corner to keep you warm and cosy outside the summer months, with two large sofas (one is a sofa bed). There are 3 bedrooms, one with a double bed, two with single beds that can be joined together as a double. One bedroom has four single beds. There are 2 bathrooms, one en-suite.

The village of St Andre de Roquepertuis lies in the Ceze Valley in the Gard department. It's like a little outcrop of Provence on the western bank of the Rhone. The valley is gently undulating and covered in vines, fruit trees, woodlands, lavender fields and ancient villages. The river Ceze runs down the middle, providing pools for swimming in, rapids to kayak through and waterfalls to gasp at. St Andre lies at the western end of the valley, just before it rises through the Gorges de la Ceze and off towards the Cevennes. It sits on a shallow hill, protected from the worst of the Mistral wind by a ridge to its immediate north and is surrounded by vineyards. There is a cafe/bar/restaurant in St Andre with a lovely wisteria-shaded terrace. 3km away is the small town of Goudargues, which offers a wide range of restaurants, shops and services (including a bank). 15km away is Bagnols-sur-Ceze, a good-sized town with a decent supermarket.

  • All prices are per property self-catered for 7 nights unless otherwise stated. Long weekend and short break prices available on application. Special rates also available for longer stays - contact us for details.

    Changeover day during high season is Saturday, though we have more flexibility for midweek-midweek, weekend or short break stays in mid and low season. Check-in any time after 5pm on day of arrival; please check-out before 10am on day of departure.

    You are welcome to bring your own linen and towels or we can supply fresh pressed bed linen, complimentary L'Occitane products and towels (hand, bath and pool) for 12€ per bed.

    You will find the cottages spotlessly clean when you arrive and we ask that you leave the gites in exactly the same state before you leave. Alternatively we will hire someone to clean the gite after you leave at a charge of €50.
  • We regret that smoking is not allowed inside the properties, but ash trays are provided on the terraces.

Beautiful countryside retreat

Our gite was simply furnished, spacious and spotlessly clean, with a quiet balcony where we had peaceful breakfasts and drinks at sundown. A short stroll through the garden took us down to the pool, which had stunning views of the surrounding hills and vineyards. Annabel and Adam were welcoming, helpful hosts.
The gites are well located for activities in and around the Ardeche gorge, and cultural visits to Avignon and Nimes, all accessible by car, but also have a series of beautiful walks on their doorstep, as well as the picturesque village of St Andre, where you can have a drink in the square and buy freshly baked baguettes. All in all, a charming and relaxing retreat.

Beautiful spot for a very relaxing few days!!

We had a beautiful few days at Les Beaux Terroirs - it was exactly wha the doctor ordered! Annabel and Adam were extremely welcoming and made sure we were all set up with the bikes that we borrowed. It's a wonderfully peaceful spot, and you really can make it what you want - we had some days spent just chilling around the lovely village and by the pool, and some much more adventurous days hiking, cycling and kayaking. It's also close enough to drive to lots of the area's bigger towns.

The cottage itself was stunning - very spacious, stylish and well-equipped, and it offered a brilliant view of the spectactular thunderstorm we were treated to one night!

We will definitely be back at Les Beaux Terroirs - I really miss the fresh figs from the trees in the garden!

Our cottage was perfect and we had a fabulous time. The location is stunning, safe and blissfully quiet. The cottage was tastefully decorated, very clean and spacious and the gardens and pool are beautiful and well maintained. Adam and Annabel were fantastic at providing helpful suggestions about what to do/where to walk/shop etc and helping us hire bikes and they both had a real "can-do" attitude. It's a great spot, whether you're wanting to collapse in peace and quiet or prefering to use it as a base for cycling and walking. I thoroughly recommend it!
