Mas Cagnet – La Grande Maison - is a large south facing self-catering house located on the border of the Gard and Vaucluse departments. It has been sympathetically converted from an old barn using the original stone and retaining exposed beams. The house sleeps 14 people in seven bedrooms, has a large very well equipped kitchen, a games room and a 6m x12m swimming pool, all of this making it ideal for multi family holidays and family reunions. It is surrounded by vineyards and unspoilt forest but is only 10 minutes by car to the nearest village of Goudargues, with local shopping, ATM, cafes, and several restaurants. . The ambiance of Mas Cagnet is peaceful, relaxed and sociable. You can choose a variety of holiday experiences ranging from quiet and restful to the more active and strenuous. Rambling, hiking, cycling, canoeing, and tennis are all available locally.

Mas Cagnet Background

Mas Cagnet is a secluded collection of connected farm buildings which have been converted into three separate homes over the last few years. They are surrounded by fields, vineyards and forest. Each dwelling has its own aspect, space and parking. The rental property, La Grande Maison, is the largest and enjoys the south facing aspect of the site. To the north of La Grande Maison is the cottage which is connected to, but independent of the rental property. It has its own separate entrance and amenity space and is the holiday home of the Mas Cagnet owners. To the north of the cottage, and also connected to it is the guardian's apartment. The guardians provide security, garden and pool maintenance.

Events and Workshops at Mas Cagnet.

Mas Cagnet has been host to social events and yoga workshops. This year (2008) yoga holidays will be held on the following dates: May 17-24 and June 7-14. The price of £650 includes pick up from the nearest airport,1 meditation and 2 yoga sessions per day, and full board. Wedding and big birthday parties have been held there with great success. The house has accommodated 60 people for dinner ‘under the arches’ and, with the help of a marquee, 120 people for a wedding. The games room can be configured as a board room, a meditation/yoga space, and a business planning meeting venue. Additional accommodation in the area can usually be arranged given sufficient notice.
