La Maison d'Estelle sits on the edge of the classic Provencal 14C village of Salazac in the Gard, just a short drive from Goudargues, Bagnols-sur-Ceze & Barjac. Close to Nimes, Avignon, Uzes, & Orange with the Cevennes, Ardeche & the coast not far away, the house’s location has many advantages. Access by road (A7, x19 at Bollene), plane (Nimes, Montpellier or Marseille) & train (Avignon) is unusually easy. Lovers of all things Provencal will find them in abundance in this area. The nearby hilltop villages of la Roque sur Ceze & Cornillon, like Salazac, are classic beauties. Goudargues with its waterways, village shops & restaurants has so much to offer. There are weekly markets in many of the nearby towns & villages. A visit to Uzes on a Saturday morning is a must!
Sites of cultural interest close by include the famous Pont du Gard, the Roman amphitheatres of Orange & Nimes, the Palais de Papes at Avignon & the Chatreuse de Valbonne. And the coast is little more than an hour away.
