This superb 18th Century property situated amongst vineyards and lavender fields is part of a peaceful hamlet and offers a haven to holiday makers. Enjoying a large garden, The Winery benefits from a 12m x 5m pool with wonderful views to the Ardêche, 40km away. The self-catering accommodation offers 2 double bedrooms, sofa bed sleeping 2, bathroom, shower room, utility room, open-plan living/dining room with wood burning stove, full central heating, a well-equipped kitchen and two terraces. Only 50 minutes from Nimes Airport. The towns of Arles, Avignon, Montpelier, Nimes and Uzes, the Ardeche Gorge and the beaches of the Carmague are all within an hour’s drive.

A popular wine area of Provence, the Mas de Sellier hamlet is situated just a couple of kilometres from St Marcel de Careiret, a small village with charming village shop, cafe and delightful patisserie for your morning croissant. Winery in Gard, near Bagnols

We spent one week in this property in July 2008. We are a family of four with two teenaged children. The house is very much as described on the web pages and forms an annex to the owner's house next door. The garden and pool are shared with the owner and her family but we found that we often had the pool area all to our selves for much of the day. The owner, Linda, was very friendly and helpful but not over intrusive.

The inside of the house is well maintained and stylish in a Provence-meets-IKEA way and very comfortable. It has clearly been well restored quite recently. The main bedroom is quite spacious and has a big window and balcony overlooking the garden.

We visited many of the surrounding towns and would particularly recommend Goudargues as a lively nearby village with lots of restaurants and, a little further away, Uzes, as well as the more famous Pont du Gard.

We would certainly recommend the winery to anyone looking for a quiet rural two-bedroomed house in a beautiful spot a little off the beaten track. We hope to return one day.

Tranquility and Relaxation in Superb Surroundings

The accommodation was excellent, well presented and obviously well looked after by the owner, with all the equipment that was necessary for our stay.
An excellent base for touring the surrounding area, with the advantage of the pool to relax in at the end of the day.
The carmague was in comfortable driving distance, as was Avignon, which is well worth a few days to discover its past, the gorges of the Ardechewere stunning with the added advantage of some really good restaurants in the nearby villages.
We went as a group of 4 and found the property very comfortable for our group, in fact one of the best properties we have stayed in, with the owner providing excellent information.

I chose this property off the internet and arrived not expecting any thing special. The property is in a quiet hamlet and well away from traffic noise. As you open the door and walk past the old wine press (awaiting renovation) you sense this property has had lots of work carried out by the owner. Entering the large lounge/dining room/kitchen with its high ceiling and large french window you see the sunny terrace and shared garden/pool. The kitchen is supplied with nearly every gadget you would need for full time occupation not just holiday use.
Upstairs are two large bedrooms - the main one with door to a balcony and views of the countryside. A well equipped bathroom and a very useful downstairs shower/toilet/laundry room complete the accomodation.
This is an excellent property for anyone wanting to relax and unwind or tour the area. The owner is welcoming without being intrusive. Eating and drinking on the sunny terrace is private.
If you feel the need to get some excercise a short stroll across the shared garden brings you to the pool - sorry have I not mentioned the pool !! A good size, a sunny spot and good sunbeds.
The big test is would I return to the winery. Without hesitation I would.
