When renovated, every feature was kept: stones, beams, arched French doors, and the quaint comfort that makes it a true vacation home. The pool is open April to October 15. Nestled in a tranquil setting overlooking the wild valley of the Gardon on one side, and a pine and chestnut forest on the other side, at the crossroads of Provence and the natural State Park of the Cevennes, one hour from the Mediterranean, it is the perfect place to spend quality and peaceful vacation time. Winters are pleasant too, thanks to the comfortable master bedroom with fireplace, and wireless Internet + satellite TV. The house is non smoking. Local activities include hiking, horse riding, mountain biking, canoeing, or enjoying street markets. The river is only 300m away and kids love it!

Nestled in a tranquil and secluded setting, the vacation house is 4.5 km from the amenities of the picturesque village of St Jean du Gard, at the crossroads of Provence and the natural State Park of the Cévennes. Enjoy the luxury of the heated pool and nature. The house originally belonged to the family of a famous protestant leader, Abraham Mazel, who fought for religious freedom in France. The surrounding wilderness was his hiding place from the King's soldiers. A portion of the house is 400 years old. The house is bordered by a vast fenced garden and sits on top of the hill of the hamlet of Falguières, overlooking the wild valley of the river Gardon on one side and a pine and chestnut forests on the other side. Cherry, fig trees as well as a tiny vineyard and mimosas grace the landscape.If you're looking for family holidays in a calm area surrounded by nature, this is the ideal vacation house rental! St Jean du Gard has an excellent range of shops and gourmet restaurants.

Living/dining room: equipped with TV, VCR and DVD player and a fireplace for cosy days or evenings. Terraces: one faces the valley, with ancient beams supporting a tiled roof; the other faces south and is shaded by a eucalyptus, making it cool and pleasant on hot days. Two large outdoor tables, chairs and a barbeque are perfect for unforgettable outdoor family meals. A quiet patio on the opposite side of the house from the pool offers a quiet retreat. Suite with mezzanine: lower floor has 2 single beds that can be pulled together to make a king bed if desired. Door opens to the patio and the East terrace. An open staircase leads to the second floor mezzanine with 2 single beds.

We stayed two weeks in Les Hauts de Falguieres. That was the most relaxing time we had in a long time. The property truly lies in the nature. One forgets the rest of the world in such settings. The house is comfortable and well furnished and equipped. With bedrooms opening on the outside it didn't feel that we were 8 family members living together.
During our stay we were able to visit Provence, go to the beach, visit the Pont du Gard, all just one hour away.
We also enjoyed the local river, walks in the woods, but mostly relaxed and read by the pool. Some of us brought their laptops and used the available internet wireless while sunbathing by the pool.
A magic place in magic settings!

'We loved your house, used the pool every day and the terraces both morning and evening! What a beautiful view! All of us had a good vacation and would return happily. We saw lots of sites/cities/places but the last was returning here for a swim and a glass of wine on the terrace! A la prochaine!' M. Family July 2004

“We had a peaceful and relaxing stay, taking in the beauty of the surroundings, enjoying the pool and benefiting from the space in and around the lovely house. Wonderful walks from Moissac, and all surrounding valleys and the hills towards Lasalle. The paths are well signed. Good restaurants in Mialet (Fer à Cheval) and in St Roman de Tousque.
