Spacious modern villa in vineyards only 10 mins from Avignon

Ideally located to visit Provence, the Cévennes or to attend Avignon's Theatre Festival, our holiday house will please you with its features: comfort, design and quality fittings. Set in a 2500 m² landscaped garden with a 5 x 10 m pool, our house has large terraces facing South, accessible through bay windows from kitchen, lounge and 2 bedrooms. A large vine covered pergola provides welcome shade during lunches and hot afternoons. There is ample parking space for five vehicles inside the closed property. It will make a perfect holiday base for two families. The house is roomy and every one can find his own space to relax, enjoy a drink on the terrace, watch a DVD on the mezzanine lounge, read a book on a bedroom terrace or chat in the lounge by the chimney. The large sunny kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, and well designed for early risers not to disturb late sleepers.

Rochefort du Gard is a small traditional village in the Côte du Rhône vineyards, minutes from historic Avignon and its Papal Palace and from other attractions such as the famous July Theater Festival. The Sunday market where local producers come to sell fresh produce is a pleasant walk or a nice bike ride, and you can admire Mont Ventoux in the distance. With quick motorway access and a network of country roads, in less than an hour's drive you can easily visit Pont du Gard, St. Rémy de Provence, and Les Baux, relax on the beach at Grau du Roi, browse l'Isle sur la Sorgue's antique markets on the way to explore the Luberon villages, or visit and shop in Uzès, Arles and Nîmes. For sporty holidays, try canoeing in the Gardon, the Cèze or even further, the Ardèche river, or even rowing on the Rhone river with the local club. Activities such as gliding, parachute jumping and hot air balloon sightseeing are available also at a short drive.

Notes to the rental rates

  • We are looking for a minimum of two weeks stay during the summer months. All prices are per week from Saturday to Saturday. Guests can arrive between 5 pm and 7pm on Saturdays and should vacate the property by 10 am on the day of departure.
  • Included in the price are : bedlinen, bath towels, kitchen cloths, electricity , hot water and central heating during the winter months. Please bring your own beach towels.
    Four hours cleaning time are included to cover reasonable housekeeping on departure day. Any extra time will be charged and taken from the security deposit as outlined in the rental agreement you receive when you book your holiday.
    The swimming pool and the garden are professionally maintained on a regular basis, with the minimum inconvenience to guests.
  • Bookings are confirmed on receipt of a 30% non refundable deposit. Full payment is required 30 days prior to arrival. These payments should be made to our Euro bank account. A safety deposit in the form of 1000 Euros or UK Pound equivalent personal cheque is also required before arrival. It will be returned to you after the house has been checked. Please make sure you are fully insured against cancellation.

Notes:

The house, tiled throughout and with floor heating is mainly on ground level. Only the mezzanine and the two large twin bedrooms are on the first floor. The day side and the night side are well separated to ensure peace and quiet. For more details on the house layout please see next section on additional information. We prefer families with children old enough to swim. The unfenced pool is secured with a fall detecting alarm system. The steps to the mezzanine and the upstairs rooms may also prove unsuitable to young children.

Additional information on the layout of the house

Ground floor: large fully equipped kitchen, spacious lounge and dining room with teak furniture, fireplace, bathroom with bath and shower, separate dressing room and laundry room, 3 comfortable queen size bedrooms, one with en-suite jacuzzi bath, dressing and bay window to terrace, a second with access to pool and terrace, a third queen size bedroom with sofa. Top floor: large mezzanine overlooking the sitting room with a lounge/study area and a TV/DVD room for relaxation, and on the night side of the house 2 more large twin bedrooms where beddings can be arranged according to your requirements (in king size double beds).

Equipment of the house

Fully equipped with recent electrical appliances such as radiant stove, dishwasher, microwave oven, 2 refrigerators incl one large US size , kettle, coffee maker, 2 stereo players, 3 TVs and a DVD player, washing machine, clothes dryer, water softener, alarm system, electric blinds, remote controlled electronic gate and security camera. Numerous pots and pans and crockery to enable you to entertain like in your own home. Books for browsing on shelves, DVD for home entertainment, stylish teak furniture and tasteful decoration create a homely and relaxed feeling typical of Provence.

How to reach us and what to do locally

Our house is conveniently located less than an hour's drive from Montpellier or Nîmes airports, which are well served by the UK major low cost airlines from Gatwick, Liverpool , Luton and Nottingham. Marseille Provence airport is also an hour away, with regular flights from Gatwick and Dublin. Once settled you will indulge in your favorite holiday pastimes, here are a few suggestions: Leave the house directly by bike or foot to explore country lanes. Play petanque on the village square. Bargain hunt in the villages open markets. Enjoy wine tasting in the local wineries: Côtes du Rhône, Lirac, Listel, Châteauneuf du Pape. Absorb the atmosphere of Avignon Theater Festival or Orange Opera Festival . Delve into the region's history dating back as far as the Roman Empire: Pont du Gard, Nîmes, Arles, Castillon du Gard, or les Baux de Provence.
