Our very bright house is situated in the green expanse of a very large fenced garden 2000 m2, with magnificent tall trees that provide a shaded area and flowery lawns in the summer, surrounding the private swimming-pool (9x4.20). The house is located in a very old village frequented at the time by the dramatist Racine whose uncle owned a large castle there. The house is 150m from this castle and the center of the town where there is cafe-brasserie. The village is some 3km from Uzès and 1.5km from a Carrefour Supermarket, Shopping Center, The house, located in a very calm neighborhood, receives sunlight from three directions: south, east and west. All its windows open onto the surrounding Nature and its air-conditioned veranda faces a bower set up near the swimming-pool. This completely renovated house is tastefully furnished and fully equipped. It is an invitation to relax after a walk or any other activities. The owner's house, near by, provides extra services if needed

Rental rates for the villa in Gard, Languedoc-Roussillon, France

Notes to the rental rates

• This rate includes sleeping accommodations, household linen, bath towels, electricity, gas and water. A price of 80€ will be for charged for completely cleaning the house (20€ per hour - 4 hours- for cleaning) , The washing of pillow cases, sheets, bath towels and table cloths as well as for ironing will be charged 30€ per double bed and 25€ for single. During the winter season from mid-September to mid-May heating is charged at the going price of the fuel consumed during the renting period. Reservations will be confirmed upon receipt of a confirmation e-mail along with the down payment of 30% of a week’s reservation rate. The remaining balance must be paid one month prior to the renting date. The indicated rate are for 5 persons including children. Pool and garden maintenance weekly included.
  
• An extra charge of 50€ per day per person will be paid over 5 persons unless special agreement. It cover its sleeping accommodations.
  Security deposit is 1200 € - This check will be held uncashed, not longer then 15 days the renter departure, and only cashed, if required after giving the client notification of the circumstance
  The renter should also have a civil insurance against any damage that could be occurred on his responsibility during his stay (fire, water damage, etc)
  The renter must inform, without delay, of any damage he notices that requires repair by the owner. Failure to report such a problem will lead to the tenant being responsible for any additional damage caused by the worsening of the problem.
  .In case that the villa will need more then 4 hours to be cleaned, each supplement hour will be charged
  20€ per hour. The renter has to leave the guest house as clean as he found in his arrival
  
• If tenant cancels this agreement less than 30 days prior to check in, Tenant shall be obligated to pay all Rent payments specified in the agreement. The same if the tenant decide to leave the villa before the end of his renting period.. If the owner do not confirm his reservation 30 days before to check in, the owner is free to rent the same period and not to pay back the 30% of the account already paid.

Saint Maximin Uzès

Saint Maximin is a very old town as can be seen from its menhirs, old coins, mosaic fragments, and the canalizations of the Roman aqueduct. Later in 1662-1662 it had the honour of receiving the dramatist Jean Racine who was spending some time at Uzège. Take the time to discover this charming village of the south surrounding the castle, Racine’s house (17th century) and the church with a beautiful 18th century organ. Walk along its shady streets and alleys or its many small parks that invite the traveler to sit down. The village has one of the best restaurant around.

L’Uzège

L'Uzège, the oldest duchy in France comprises some fifteen villages, typical of the Languedoc. With both medieval and modern flavours, fields of lavender, an air of the town of Cévennes, the dryness of the scrublands and the freshness of the banks of the Gardon, the scenery, the fragrances and the colours vary from one season to the next. It is here that the poppy fields, the rustling of the olive trees, the ripe vineyards and the soft and scented summer nights have marveled many poets and writers. This part of southern France offers a magnificent setting for your holidays whether you are descending the Gardon River towards the Gard Bridge silently gliding down in your canoe or going upstream where the gorges become more secretive near the St. Nicolas Abbey and not far from the village of La Baume where Yves Montand shot the film “Salaire de la Peur”. Here there are bridler paths for horse riding and the Gardon is nearby for swimming and relaxation on its shady beaches.

Going towards Saint Maximin-Uzès

You can easily get to Saint Maximin by car taking the French highway from Calais, Cherbourg, or from many other different points in France, Belgium, Germany, Spain and Italy. The airline Ryanair offers daily flights that go from Stansted Airport (GB) to Nîmes. The TGV takes 2h45 to go from Paris to Avignon and 5h from Brussels to Avignon. A limousine will pick you up at the Avignon Train Station or at the Nîmes Airport.
