Villa Le Belvédère in the panoramic ancient hill village of Cornillon
A beautiful and comfortable family home in the Gard situated in a unique position on the ramparts overlooking the vine yards of the Cèzè valley. Nightingales can sometimes be heard in the surrounding oak and pine hill forests and breath taking views can be enjoyed as you swim in the newly constructed outdoor pool. Time to relax and shelter from the midday sun beneath the shade of the lovely acacia trees on the terrace, or relax in the early evening whilst enjoying a glass of rose and watching the sun set before setting off for dinner at one of the many picturesque restaurants in the area, or cooking some of the excellent local market produce on the barbeque. Close by there are two Robert Parker rated caves: one in St. Gervais, (less than a ten minute drive away), Domaine St. Anne: 'should you find a bottle of St. Anne's Viognier, it is stunning'. In Sabran you will find Domaine de la Remejeanne. Within an hour's drive are Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, Lirac, Vacqueyas, and Tavel.

A breathtakingly beautiful medieval hill-top village situated on the ramparts of a protected sight with its own ruined chateau and small amphitheatre where concerts are held and a celebrated auberge, 'La Vielle Fontaine' serves moules delivered from Marseille fishermen that morning. The house faces due south and is perfectly positioned to settle down on the terraces with a glass of rose and watch the sun set across the valley

Notes to the rental rates

During the high season fortnightly rentals are preferred. Deposit one third of the total - which is non refundable - at the time of booking. Please check you have holiday insurance to cover emergency cancellations. Security deposit of 750 euros to be paid along with the outstanding balance and will be returned on the day of departure. There is a statutory charge of 150 euros for cleaning the house on departure which must be paid along with the balance six weeks before the rental commences. Bedlinen and towels may also be hired and paid for in advance at the charge of 25 euros per person per week. GUESTS ARE REQUIRED TO LEAVE BY 10.30AM ON DAY OF DEPARTURE AND MAY ARRIVE FROM 3PM ONWARDS. THIS IS TO ENSURE THAT THE PROPERTY IS PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED. THANK YOU.

Family villa in charming medieval hill village
Spacious house in an ancient village Perche which sleeps eight, (plus a z bed) with two newly refurbished bathrooms and a separate WC There is an outdoor pool 10x5 meters which can be floodlit for evening barbeques and a terraced garden with spectacular views over the vineyards. Many varieties of birds and butterflies visit the garden. There is full sized table tennis on the terrace. Cars must remain on the edge of the village except for personal access to village residences, so it is delightful to meander around the ancient village where children can play safely. Goudargues, just five minutes away down the hill
A picturesque town on a fresh water canal that provides two bakeries, a supermarket, a green grocer supplying local produce of the area, garage, pharmacy, bank and a GP surgery with an English speaking doctor. There is a market every Wednesday and many small bars and restaurants are situated alongside the canal. The Camargue and Mediterranean are only an hour and a half's drive way. The historical towns of Nimes, Arles, Orange, Avignon and Carpentras are easily accessible.
The house is privately owned
and used by two English families living in London, so it has a personal family touch. The caretakers live next door and are readily available to assist you, should the need arise. It may also be possible to organise additional cleaning, baby sitting or linen rental at the time of the original booking. References are available on request.

In the house you will find the guest book from previous residents, several of whom have declared their wish to return to this delightful and cared for holiday home. Some have mentioned that despite the wonderful surrounding visits to be made the best thing of all has been returning to the pool and terraces at Cornillon. Names available on request.
