Old farmhouse recently converted with many exposed beams and other original features. Wood burning stove in attractive open plan kitchen/dining/sitting area. Fully equipped kitchen. Most accommodation at 1st floor level with 1 twin room and bathroom in the roof space area.2 double rooms one of which has ensuite shower room/WC. Each room could have a Z bed or equivalent added. At ground floor level is a room with washing machine and small snooker table and other rooms suitable for bike storage etc. Overlooking open countryside with large shared garden equipped with own B-B-Q and private patio area. Offroad parking. Electric radiators in bedrooms and underfloor heating in 1st floor bathrooms.

Situated on the border of Correze with Lot and Dordogne departments in the Dordogne valley within 15 mins drive of several of the most beautiful villages in France. Away from the main tourist area but within easy reach of the main tourist sites such as Colonges La Rouge, Rocamadour & several caves/gouffres. The mediaeval towns of Beaulieu & Bretenoux are both within 15 mins drive, & Sarlat with its renowned Saturday market is about 1.5 hours drive. The Dordogne River is 10 mins away by car & there is also a swimming lake about 10 mins away. A local campsite (3 mins by car) has a swimming pool that you can use provided you buy drinks etc. The closest airports are currently Toulouse & Limoges both around 1.5-2 hours travel from the house. Bergerac is about 2.5 - 3 hours drive.

Local Swimming

There is a local camp site open during July and August which has a swimming pool open to all provided you buy some refreshments. This was closed last year and is changing management so we cannot guarantee its availability etc. It is 8 mins away by bike on a flat country lane. Also nearby (10 mins by car) are a waterpark with 2 slides and a swimming lake with a diving platform and slide. Both have restaurants and are recommended.

Eating out

There are many excellent country restaurants within 5-15 mins drive.Most are children friendly and all offer very good fixed price menus.

Other Activities Canoeing is available on the nearby Dordogne river with the nearest canoe hire shop only 10 mins away. You can leave your car and transport is provided to bring you back. There is a golf course which we have not sampled on the other side of the valley close to St Cere and about 15 mins drive. The nearest stables for horse riding is 10 mins away by bike.
