Pretty Perigordine-style house set in 2 acres of land

Our pretty Perigordine Style house is located in the stunning Limousin-Perigord National Park some 40 minutes drive south of Limoges Airport. Set in approximately 2 acres of grounds with a swimming pool, games room, woodlands and a shallow stream, the house is ideal for relaxing family holidays. This beautiful region of France had been relatively undiscovered until international flights were allowed into local Airports, whilst new motorways have reduced the car journey from Calais to about 6/7 hours. The region is ideal for walkers and cyclists with its rolling hills, dense forests and lakes whilst with the Dordogne on its doorstep, the more traditional tourist attractions are within easy distance. Fetes and Festivals in local villages are common during the summer whilst fishing is available in the lakes and Golf in Limoges. The climate is great and in short, we think our house and location offers everything you need for a super holiday away from it all.

Our house is in the hamlet of Gaillardie which is about 3.5 kms from Ladignac Le Long which boasts of several shops including butchers, bakers, mini supermarket and a pharmacy.. The medieval town of St Yrieiux la Perche is 7kms away and offers an excellent bi-weekly market as well as a good selection of shops, restaurants and banks.This is Richard the Lionheart country (he died in Chalus which is about 10kms away) and constant reminders of the Crusades are to be seen in local towns and villages. The remoteness also made it ideal for the French Resistance in World War 11 and reminders of their gallant activities are never far away.
