St.Patrice is less than a mile north of the river Loire, 5 miles west of Langeais and 8 miles east of Bourgueil ,famous for its red wine. Tours and Saumur are 25 miles to the east and west respectively. The house is therefore ideally located for visiting the famous Loire Valley chateaux, museums and vineyards. The chateaux of Azay le Rideau, Villandry, Usse and medieval Chinon and Fontevraud Abbey are 30 minutes away. St Patrice can be reached from St.Malo or Caen in 5 hrs, Calais in 6hrs.Tours Airport with Ryanair flying in daily from London Stansted is 30 minutes drive.The new A85 autoroute has an exit at Langeais and Bourgueil so you can drive from Paris in a couple of hours.There is also a daily train from the station in St.Patrice to Tours which connects with the morning TGV to Paris in 59 minutes !Within 15 minutes drive there are several gardens open to the public including the world famous Villandry and the beautiful Chateau Chattonieres near Azay le Rideau.
