Dating back to about 1700, La Folie is a 'Coeur de ferme' situated in tranquil Touraine countryside in the Loire Valley. It is close to the villages of Betz-le- Chateau and Ferrière Larçon and twenty minutes drive from the historic town of Loches (where the recently discovered Caravaggio paintings are on display). It is within easy reach of many of the Loire Chateaux and is a perfect, peaceful hideaway - your ideal spot for a relaxing holiday in France. There are two cottages, Hirondelles, the original farm house with five bedrooms and Tourterelles, part of the original stables, with 3 bedrooms. The two cottages share the use of an 11 metre heated pool. Further photos and other information can be found on owners web site.

Tourterelles is a cottage created out of part of the old stables. On the ground floor you will find a comfortable living-dining area, a well equipped kitchen, a double bedroom with en-suite shower-room and a toilet. On the first floor are two twin bedrooms and a further shower room and toilet. The private patio area is accessed from the living room.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Rentals are secured on payment of a deposit of 25% of the rental. The balance is due 8 weeks before the start of the rental together with a security deposit of 100 Euros against damage. Security deposit refunded within 28 days after departure. Deductions made for damages, missing items and extra cleaning costs.
    Payment in Euros may be made by Bank Electronic Funds Transfer, International Bank Transfer or Wire. Payment can be negotiated in Sterling, by credit card or Pay Pal and subject to applicable fees.

    All rentals include bedding bath towels and beach towels. In comparing rents please note there is NO charge for linen.
  • Larger families may wish to rent both houses, we offer a discounted rate when renting both houses.

Once again we have enjoyed a wonderful time at this cottage We shared both houses with other family members and cannot begin to describe the brilliant time we always have here. From the surroundings to the wonderful welcome from Karen you will not be disappointed if you holiday here.
Special memories are made here and we are grateful for the opportunity. Grandchildren loved the pool as did we. The bikes, the trampoline, table tennis all add to a great time.
Accomodation is beautiful, spotlessly clean and great attention to detail. Loved the local markets, chateaux, sunflowers. The only down side is having to leave .....
