Indre-et-Loire holiday farmhouse: Neuilly le Brignon

I do recommend this lovely farmhouse, it is much bigger than the pictures actually show, all the rooms are very generous and the bedrooms are comfortable.
The grounds are very well kept with the owners on site should you need any help or advice. The swimming pool is fantastic, we brought some blow up toys for the kids to enjoy in it - at night time the pool has underwater lights , so if you're brave enough you can go for a dip when the sun goes down! Our children 8 & 12 were never bored here as there is plenty of safe open space for them to play hide & seek or try and catch the local Geko's!
I even enjoyed hanging the towels on the washing line that hung between two trees looking out over the beautiful land with not so much as a car in sight. The BBQ area is an amazing space with plently of seating should you come with a larger party.
We visited The Château de Loches which is lovely and also enjoyed looking around the local market there as well. You are spoilt for choice with vineyards although we chose The Cave des Producteurs de Vouvray the people are very friendly and speak very good English, and of course the wine tasting was very nice!
The parks around are so well kept it really puts the UK to shame, no grafitti or mess anywhere, in fact the children there always spoke to you to say "Bonjour!"
We met a lovely French family in nearby Cussay and even though they hardly speak a word of English we somehow got by with a phrasebook & their patience! we met up each night for a chat also meeting their English friends who are wonderful too and after having made firm friends we are hoping to return to La Sorniere next year to meet up again.
You would need a car here as the local village is quite a walk or ride away but this is what we came here for - to get away from it all!
The supermarkets are well stocked its just a shame about the Euro at the moment, I would recommend you bring as many basics as you can in a cool bag.
Although the journey is a long one we preferred our route on the way home (the pretty way!) we avoided the toll roads (OK the toll roads knock off 1.5 hrs of your journey but its very boring & cost around 49 Euros in total one way!) take a picnic and enjoy the breaks you have along the way.
All in all the description the owners have provided is accurate as far as we found, the only thing we have since said would benefit guests would be a "Welcome" folder with local info in ie shops & opening times ect.
