Le Fournil and La Grange are situated in a quiet hamlet 1km from Le Fournil and La Grange Azay has all amenities including a Château & tourist office. The properties are located 1 hour from both Tours and Poitiers, therefore making it ideal for visiting Chateaux, wine growing areas and Futuroscope. The Parc de la Brenne nature reserve offers excellent outdoor activities and there is an excellent wildlife park 5 mins away (Parc de la Haute Touche). The properties have both been renovated to the highest standard in the last couple of years leaving original beams and stonework wherever possible. All furniture and equipment has been purchased specifically for the properties and meticulously chosen to make your holiday as comfortable as possible. There isn’t any “cast-off” furniture or appliances! Equipment includes: Dishwasher, washing-machine, tumble-dryer, microwave etc. Baby facilities (cot, high-chair & stair gates), electricity and linen included in the price.

Le Fournil is a 200 year old 'Longere' Farmhouse that has been beautifully renovated a couple of years ago. It has been equipped to the highest standard with furniture and equipment that has been specifically purchased for the house. There isn't any 'cast off' furniture here! The accommodation comprises: Ground floor; Double room with en-suite, living room, dining room with open fireplace, kitchen, large hallway, twin room, family bathroom, WC, Spare room & utility room. Upstairs; 2 doubles & 1 twin, bathroom, WC. All the rooms have been individually decorated and furnished with care. Equipment provided includes; Dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer; full facilities for wheelchairs and babies (high chair, stair gates & cot) at no extra cost. Linen, towels & electricity is all included in the price. Outside, the property shares the new 10m x 5m pool with La Grange, and there are swings, table tennis, bikes, petanque etc to keep you amused!

Azay le Ferron is situated in the Indre in the centre of France. It is in the Parc Naturel Regional de la Brenne; (also known as the 'Park of 1000 lakes'). The activities in the surrounding are a include: Hiking, Cycling, Horse riding, fishing, golf, rock climbing, caving, canoeing, quad biking/karting etc. It is also very close to the Bellebouche leisure complex at Mezieres en Brenne which offers a beach, sail boards, pedal boats, mini-golf, fishing etc. The Parc de la Haute Touche is 5 minutes away offering one of the biggest wildlife parks in Europe. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty which offers activities for all age groups. It is also within easy reach of the Futuroscope Amusement park in Poitiers; and the magnificent Chateaux and wine growing area of the Loire Valley.

After a tiring drive we arrived at le Founil and La grange and were thrilled. Spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. La Grange is straight from the pages of Homes and Gardens! Perfect accomodation for more than one family,both homes have everything you could possibly need. Our children adored the large gardens and play equipment and the pool. If the weather is good,you really wont want to leave the houses! We have stayed in many gites and houses in France,and these were definitely the best equipped.

A very happy holiday

Great house for the nine of us. Cool in summer and hot outside. The pool was great; good size and well maintained. You share it with the other property but that wasnt a problem for us; my guess is most guests are families so our children played togehter. We sat outside most nights and drank lots of wine. The kitchen was well provided for, and the washing machine was used a lot as we had 4 girls with us, so they had to wear lots of different clothes! The local village is a 3 minute drive and, for such a small place, has a good supermarket, and excellent bakers and a 'locals' bar. You can see it all on Google Maps / Drive through. Oh yes, and as per all French villages it has a Pharmacy! Good Tennis courts too. The Chateau is very impressive and both the tourist board employees spoke excellent english and were able to help with good advice. After the village, the next, larger supermarket is about 20 minutes away. This is a rural area, but we found lots to do within 45 minute drives, including Canoeing, Go Ape type activities and beautiful villages. You can swim in the local rivers too which is good fun. We only went to 3 local restaurants but these were excellent. To get back home the other family with us left at 8am, went via Paris on what was meant to be the busiest (last) Saturday in August, and were on a ChannelTunnel Shuttle at 2.45. We went on country roads, up to Chartres fro lunch, via Rouen, and caught the 5pm Shuttle. A relatively easy place to get to in a day. All in all a great place, with excellent support from James Millard of JLM France who manages it. Thanks again.
