`Volets Bleus` is the very private wing of our own home. This self-catering tranquil cottage is comfortable, and very well furnished and equipped. The private terrace has a dining table and 4 chairs, a BBQ, and overlooks the garden and pool. There is an organic vegetable garden, and visitors are free to help themselves to any of the fresh produce. `The Cottage` is a spacious, 2-bedroom cottage, privately situated beyond the pool. This self-catering rental property has an en-suite and a house bathroom and is, therefore, a very flexible property with regard to its occupancy. It has a secluded south facing terrace with lovely country views. A feature much appreciated by our visitors is that they can walk to and from the village - no driving after a good meal!

`Volets Bleus` is the very private wing of our own home. It is comfortable, very well furnished and equipped. We have tried to provide everything that allows our visitors to spend a relaxing break. There is a fully equipped kitchen, TV [terrestrial and satellite], DVD, Video player, and CD player. The bedroom is of a good size, with lots of storage space. The shower room is also of a good size, and there is a thermostatic shower head. Outside is a private covered terrace, with a table and 4 chairs, plus BBQ. It is surrounded by our garden, and overlooks the pool, just a few steps away. Our own computer is available, on request, for those wishing to use it.

Notes to the rental rates

• 1. We provide all linen, but not towels - but these can be hired for£10 or 15 euros.
  2. Bookings are normally from 4pm on day one to 10am on final day.
  3..Deposit of 1/3 rental on booking , balance 6 weeks before tenancy. Cheques payable to P.Goodwin.
  4..Pool is not guaranteed outside seasonal dates.
  5.. We clean the properties at no extra charge, as experience shows us that our guests are fair and reasonable in this respect.
  6.. Number of guests must not exceed quoted capacity, unless by previous arrangement.
  7.. Prices are per property, per week, and include gas and electricity costs.
  8.. We strongly advise our visitors to take out holiday cancellation insurance.

This is a beautiful mediaeval hilltop `bastide` village, classified as `l`un des plus beaux villages de France` and elected as one of the top 10 villages of France by the Daily Telegraph travel writers. When one sees the beautiful, vaulted archways surrounding the central square, one can understand why. It is a thriving village supporting all the required services - bank, post office, doctors, butcher, bakers, bars and a wide choice of restaurants. There is also a good sized `casino` supermarket.

Exploring

For those who like to explore, then day visits to Cahors, Bergerac, Issigeac, Monpazier, Domme, Les Eyzies and St. Emilion are all possible. Our colourful local markets are always worth a visit.

Activities

These include tennis, golf, cycling, walking, horse riding and canoeing - not forgetting the local Boules area. If all this is too much, then simply do what most of our visitors do - just relax by the pool.... `Volets Bleus` is the very private wing of our own home. On the 1.5 acre site, is a further cottage with 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms. Visitors share the 11 by 5 m. pool. The tiled terrace is large, so there is plenty of room. Each property has its own terrace, which is totally private, ensuring our visitors total peace and quiet. We have lived here for almost 20 years, so know the area and the local people well.
