The Chateau stands in 8 acres and is divided into 5 individual apartments, each with their own kitchen, sitting/dining room, bedrooms and bathrooms. Mautors is ideal for large groups such as family reunions, where you can all join in together under the same roof, but at the same time have your own space to chill out and enjoy some peace and quiet. The house has been completely renovated and has good sound insulation, newly fully tiled bathrooms with heated towel rails, fitted kitchens, comfortable beds and quality furnishings. There is a 13 X 6 metres outdoor swimming pool, and a games room with table tennis, full size snooker table and table football. Whether it is for a family reunion, wedding anniversary or birthday party, or you just want to spend a week or two enjoying the company of friends and family, Chateau des Mautors is the place to be. Please note that we, the owners, do live on site. We are found to be very easy going, but always there to help in any emergencies!

Additional information about rental rates

  • Please note that we do not rent out any of the apartments separately, Mautors is available for large group bookings of up to 26 people, perfect for family get together, or a group of friends having a good time. We do ask for a breakage deposit of £300 against damages or extra cleaning charges.
  • ALTHOUGH OUR PRICES ARE IN EUROS, WE WOULD BE HAPPY TO ACCEPT BRITISH POUNDS STERLING

    20% Deposit - 80% Balance due 8 weeks before arrival.
    We do ask for a breakage deposit of £300
  • An extra bed can be added at a cost of €150 per week. Please note that the owners do live on site, but they are very laid back, and never interfere, and on the plus side they are always available to help with restaurant reservations, doctor appointments, problems with cars, or anything else you can think of.

They make every effort to ensure that you get best out of the property and the area, and that you enjoy your stay and go home thinking you would like to come back again. They are also dab hands at sorting out all those dreaded emergencies that you hope you will not have to cope with like car breakdowns, visits to the doctor or dentist. If you fancy canoeing, horse riding, or going out for a meal, give them a call and they will be very happy to advise you.

Situated in beautiful rolling countryside midway between the Dordogne and Lot rivers, the nearest town to Mautors is the historic town of Castillonnes which is 4 miles away, and dates back to the 14th century. It is full of old stone houses, cloisters , and timber framed houses, as well as having all the shops you would need, a large supermarket and a choice of several excellent restaurants. Larger towns nearby are Bergerac and Villeneuve Sur Lot. Bergerac has its own airport and has several flights a day from Southampton, Stansted, and Manchester, and where cars can be rented very easily, it is roughly 25 minutes from Mautors. Villeneuve Sur Lot is another interesting town steeped in history, with interesting architecture, and good restaurants, and is a nice day out for the ladies to wander around the shops! Each nearby town has a market day selling local produce, arts and crafts, and clothing, always a hit with our guests, and in high season there is a night market each week i
