Charming detached farm cottage conveniently situated between the villages of Duras & Eymet, “Le Maubec” is a newly restored stone built farm cottage, 250 years old and retaining much of its original character including ancient fireplace and low, exposed beams, set in a quiet, rural valley on the edge of the famous Bordeaux wine-growing area. The 3 double bedroom property stands in its own gardens with a private pool (11metres x 5metres), a covered terrace and large pool terrace & is fully equipped to accommodate 6 people. It is ideally situated for a relaxed, lazy holiday or as a base for visiting the numerous historic towns and villages in the area.

Moustier lies in the Dropt valley, a valley full of history dating back to the Knights Templar and the 100 years war and many of the villages are built on hilltops with the remains of defensive walls. Throughout the summer street theatre groups perform re-enactments of medieval events in the valley villages. Large, “English-friendly” supermarkets are at nearby Miramont-de- Guyenne and Duras and, closer, bakeries for your early morning bread and croissants. There are many excellent and reasonably priced restaurants in the area where you can enjoy the famous local cuisine al-fresco. Among many interesting places to visit are Bergerac, with its old town , museums and galleries and first-class shopping area, St Emilion the lovely and historic centre of production of the most famous of the Bordeaux wines and, of course, the wonderful city of Bordeaux itself.
