The building, known as 'the tower', is part of a former farm complex and is situated in an idyllic hilltop location with magnificent views of the cliffs of the Aveyron gorge and surrounding countryside. Facing south and enjoying sun throughout the day, it is set in five acres of garden and open grassland. The tower is attached to the farmhouse by a veranda but the layout of the property, pool and extensive grounds provide plenty of space and privacy for all who visit. There is ample garden furniture for alfresco dining and sun lounger’s for relaxing around the pool. This tranquil location offers the perfect retreat to relax and soak up the ambiance of rural France.

The property is located adjacent to the Aveyron gorge on the edge of the tiny hamlet of Quergoalle and has a spectacular view. It is a short drive from the historic town of St. Antonin Noble Val which offers a variety of traditional shops and a renowned Sunday market. This is a beautiful unspoilt rural region with limestone plateaus, dramatic gorges, winding rivers and wooded valleys providing a fabulous environment for exploring and outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, climbing and canoeing. It is also a wonderful area for bird watching and stargazing. All around are wonderful villages to visit such as Cordes, Najac, Penne and Bruniquel and slightly further afield, but still within easy reach, are Cahors, Albi, Toulouse and Carcassone. For those who like driving, the Mediterranean and Pyrenees also make good day trips. Finally, don't forget the wine. Blancou is situated between the wine producing regions of Gaillac and Quercy and a visit to the vineyards is recommended.

Notes: The tower is self contained and is two storey. Upstairs is a double bedroom with en suite bathroom and downstairs is a kitchenette with sitting room area and fireplace. Microwave has built in grill. Downstairs access leads under the veranda to the farmhouse and upstairs access opens out into the garden. Cot and high chair available. Access to telephone and washing machine available. Fridge has small built in freezer. Bed linen and towels (hand, bath and tea towels) provided and these are changed weekly. Guests are asked to provide their own pool towels. Pool (10x6) 1.4 m shallow end and 1.9 m deep end. Access is via a pool ladder. Pool open May to September. Large shady hangar for parking. Large gravelled drive ideal for boules.

FRESH PRODUCE: Blancou is an active small holding with cats, geese (fenced in) and chickens all on site. Fruit and vegetables are available from the garden for a small charge. Both are subject to season and availability. There are also a range of herbs around the property for your use. Fresh bread is also available from the boulanger who delivers twice a week.

HERE TO HELP: We are based in the farmhouse and are available to help in any way to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible.

Very friendly owners looked after us very well, idyllic spot away from it all in this beautifully renovated gite. all in all a lovely holiday.
