We have two gites in a large, converted barn in the heart of the South Aveyron countryside. Situated in a hamlet just 2kms from the Tarn Valley village of Broquies, La Cardabelle is the ideal place to come & unwind from the daily grind, either to relax or enjoy an active family holiday. Views from the pool, garden & the terrace are breath taking with a horizon of up to 40kms across the Tarn Valley to the Lacaune Mountains. Both gites are spacious, light & comfortable. Many original features have been preserved in their renovation. There are all the comforts of home including fully equipped, modern kitchens and additional downstairs cloakrooms. There is a large garden planted with palm trees & large lawned area on which children can play. Each gite has its own terrace and there are two BB Q's in the garden. There is also a 5 x 10 swimming pool & Petain piste. The pool is easily viewed from both terraces.

There is a large garden planted with palm trees & large lawned area on which children can play. There is also a 5 x 10 swimming pool & petanque piste for exclusive use of our guests. The lounge, dining area & kitchen are open plan with direct access to the sun terrace overlooking the pool & garden.

Notes to the rental rates

• *Winter rates do not include Christmas/New Year period which will be charged at £600 per week or £90 per night.
  
• A refundable security deposit of £100 is required upon arrival.
  
• A deposit of a third will be required upon booking, this is non-refundable. Final balance payable 6 weeks prior to arrival date.

We live in the house next door which is separated from the gites by a pretty internal courtyard. Don't be afraid! We are only there if you need us and are happy to help with any queries, requests and supply information about the area that will enhance the enjoyment of your holiday.

Activity notes

During the warmer months the lakes at only 10 and 25 minutes away have beaches and are suitable for swimming as well as facilitating water sports and boat hire. Fishing is also permitted on the lakes and the rivers after purchasing a very reasonable permit (we can advise on how to do this and where to fish). There are many cafes and bars open at the lakes making it an ideal place to spend the day with the family. Winter sports are available 2 hours away to the north of Rodez. We have gone for the day ourselves but as we rent for as little as a one night period during this season our gite may interest those who like to mix activities during their holiday. Perhaps a few days skiing and then a few walking in our local countryside which is very popular with ramblers. Or you may just want to enjoy the cosy fire and put your feet up.

Night life

Although ours is a rural location and you can spend tranquil evenings gazing at the stars from your terrace whilst sipping wine after dinner, you can also spend every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening at a village fete during the summer months. Every village has one, complete with meal (if you want to eat under the summer sky), entertainment/disco and fire works.
